Fingers in the mouth question???

LO has recently began to shove her finges or as many as she is up to in her mouth.   Obviously it makes her cough and gag a little bit but she hasn't stuck them far enough to get sick.   My nephew use to do this when he was little until he would make himself sick.  We have tried to curb her from doing it but she doesn't seem to understand :) .    Any one have or dealt with this and what did you do?  I don't know if maybe she has a tickle or what but any advice is appreciated.

We are dealing with this all the time. It's the molars-I can finally see them poking through. I have just quit trying to pull her fingers out of her mouth.
  • DS already had his molars but he does this! The other day he even threw up a little. :( I'm hoping he stops this soon, he always giggles after he gags! WTF?!
  • @sbmomma Maybe 2yr molars?

J always has his hands in his mouth, but so far no gagging.
  • We have molars too but it seems they are still emerging so I've seen the fingers go in more lately. I calmly give her something else to chew. If I make a big deal she tries to put in more of her hand and I really don't want any gagging. Too bad redirecting isn't so easy when she sticks a finger up her nose! That's lovely.

  • DD has been doing this 24/7 the past week or so. I figured it was just teeth coming in and she will get over it sooner or later. not really too worried.

  • I agree with everyone else - it's probably teeth!
