Do you feel like your style of dress has changed? I look at some of the clothes in my closet and feel like they will NEVER be worn again, stuff I really liked before. Now my sister (who has a 7 month old) and I jokingly refer to our style as "mommy-on-the-go" as in "you look very 'mommy-on-the-go' today." LOL. No "mom-jeans" though! No high waists and pleats!
Re: Has this changed now that you're a mom?
I pulled out a dress to try on to wear to a wedding, and said, "I feel like I can't wear this now because I'm someone's mom."
Please describe "mommy on the go" style.
Absolutely! No more tight tiny Ts or hoodies and jeans all the time... I'm all about the mom-on-the-go look! I think feeling put together is much more important to me now, almost like I'm afraid to let myself go.

My body is slightly different, and the function of my clothing has definitely changed. Plus I still need boob access, and my shirts have to hide the stupid clasps on nursing bras.
So I guess I have "breastfeeding style." It sucks.
Also, I used to not really care that, due to my long torso, half the shirts I own show my midriff at least a little. Now they look fuckking stupid with a long nursing tank hanging out the bottom....and I feel completely inappropriate with my midriff showing AT ALL.
I'm going to have to go to some sort of big and tall store and find cute shirts (like, not t-shirts) that don't show my friggin' midriff...
I think I dress more conservative now. Not that I was dressing so crazy before, but I get what you mean. If I put on something really low cut, or short, I just can't seem to feel comfortable. I'm sure part of it is that my body has changed a bit, but I will think...I'm someone's mom...
Sounds almost just like mine but I need to rock some puffy vests! I forgot about that option.
Not so much but I am thinking it's going to start changing, for a couple reasons.
1. I am starting to think I resemble Peg Bundy a bit! I wear tight pants and 4inch heels everyday, and my hair can sometimes be a bit big, ha. In my defense, I live in Long Island. Sadly, this is acceptable here.
I think I am getting older (28) and starting to want to be a bit less flashy. Also, heels w/a 21lb baby are starting to become hazardous!
2. I wear a full face of makeup-everyday, even on weekends to just go grocery shopping. I have been this way since jr high and it's a hard habit to break, but does the deli clerk really appreciate my bronzer and contoured eyeshadow? Probably not. Also, sometimes after I snuggle DS, his little face is shimmery. My 8 month old doesn't need to look like he just walked away from a lap dance.

My style is a lot more casual now, but that's mostly due to being laid off 4 months ago. I was in a wedding 2 weeks ago, and I had to wear heels for the first time in 9 months. Yeesh.
Other than that, no, I wouldn't say my style has changed at all. I've always been a fairly conservative/classic dresser, so other than my jeans going up one size, I'm pretty much wearing the same stuff as before DS.
