I feel like Emery hasn't played by herself in forever. She spends all day in my lap or pulling on me or holding onto my leg. If she does trail off she's 99% up to no good and getting into something she's not supposed to play with. I feel like she doesn't care for her toys. She wants to do tasks and wants my attention all day. So it's sing with her, read her a book, help her with a puzzle and if I'm not engaging her she's having meltdowns to get my attention.
Wtf? Is anyone else's kid doing this? Is this just normal? It's exhausting. And I feel bad saying that because she really is cute and everything, I just wish she would play with something other than me.

Right there with ya! My parents have lovingly dubbed Kellen "Special K" as he is just so special and important that he needs your attention 24/7. And you are right, it is exhausting! He constantly craves interaction/attention and wants to be carried around the house flipping light switches for 95% of the day. He MIGHT find something to hold his attention for 5 mins, but it is, like you said, usually something bad like climbing his book shelf rather than playing with a toy quietly. The only time he seems to entertain himself is when we go to parks or the children's museum, so we do that a whole lot.
Sometimes I even put him in the car and just drive around just so my arms and back can have a break! Toddlers are so demanding....
