Why'd you have to go...

And make me so constipated.

This is ridiculous ladies. And this whole time I have been good and have been eating fruits and vegetables. Drinking water...AND still this way!! I work full time and I'm kinda scared to take like a stool softener or something, I'm afraid it might hit me at the wrong time if you know what I mean!

Re: Why'd you have to go...

  • Sometimes its the iron in your vitamins... not that that helps (unless you're willing to cut out the iron for a few days), just saying.  :(

  • The stool softeners are not like laxatives! Get colace and use as directed, you will be fine :) it might take a few days too

I've been on the gummies and it doesn't have iron in it. I was thinking about getting a supplement once I get the dosage cleared by my OB.
  • I agree about the stool softener. I didn't have problems with an urgency of having to go. It just helped make it easier.

  • I eat about three apples and a fiber one bar, the next day a cup of black coffee, and Im running to the restroom… I swear by apples and fiber ones though!
  • Colace is heavenly.

One of my paranoid pregnant friends mentioned fiber one bars are not safe for pregnant women. I haven't had any time to research this, but they taste delicious and colace and I aren't really on the same page so I have a box just sitting there waiting. Any thoughts on the validity of them being unsafe for any reason?

  • Have you thought of eating lots of oranges? That always works for me.
  • Oh I haven't tried oranges!! I will have to go pick some up tomorrow. I have been eating apples though. I have been buying the pre-sliced ones the yummy dips! That has been my mid-morning snack for the past week or so.
  • I've tried everything they suggest but this actually worked. A pediatrician told my mom what works for kids. You get a small chocolate malt made with chocolate ice cream, chocolate milk and chocolate syrup. Something about the cocoa. Works for me everything. I drink it and take stool softeners.
  • I'm going to recommend Taco Bell. Would probably make you poop. ;)

    Kidding! (But seriously...)

  • I take stool softeners every single night. Metamucil every morning. Mira Lax in the evening. Im still very VERY constipated. My OB prescribed some Lactolase and it has helped. I take an ounce of it every day.

Whatever you do, stay away from enemas and suppositories. The glycerin isn't good.
  • Colace and I, we go way back. You could say we're best friends. I sing it's praises everytime I'm able to poop. I also drink grape juice to hel

  • Senna is my best friend.
  • Beans are a great source of natural fiber. I've been seeing a nutritionist for over a year and she knows what she is talking about. (karenhurd.com) Also make sure you are drinking plenty of water to help the process ( beans will also help with nausea). Trust me!
  • Papaya is key. You can also get papaya and pineapple enzymes from trader joes. Good luck!
