I am working until 1pm (clearly working hard) and just read an article that said 80% of people have fake christmas trees! I thought this cant be right, what do yo have?
Along with no guns/weapons (previous thread) we're also not allowed to have real Christmas trees because they are a huge fire hazard. Fake all the way.

we had 2 house fires growing up. Neither were caused by a tree but my parents have always done everything to avoid any type of fire hazards since. Grew up with fake sand am continuing the trend. Plus, pre-lit trees are genius!

Two house fires?! Oh wow, yeah, I wouldn't take the chance on something as silly as a tree either.

Real here, id rather fake because it easier but my husband is quite the Christmas tree guru. He spends like 2 hours picking out the perfect one, them trims it to his idea of perfection. .. its annoying and cute all at the same time
Always had a real one growing up -- too much of a hassle in my single days... no reason to change now until LO is old enough that we can make an "event" out of going to pick out the tree. Plus this way we can just keep it in the basement with the lights still on it and bring it up the day after Thanksgiving; take it down the day after Christmas...
Growing up I was allergic to the trees (childhood asthma) so we always had fake. Last November we moved during hurricane Sandy and I think it got thrown out. So we have a real one right now. DH's family is big into going tree "hunting" each year so we tagged along this year. Next year we are going back to fake status at my request
NPR just had a great segment on real vs fake trees... apparently fake trees make a huge carbon foot print compared to real ones. We have always had a real tree

I always have a real tree..but since having Ella and everything going in her mouth we are temporarily using an artificial for a few years so I do not need to worry about pine needles
Always had a real tree growing up and still do. We do the whole "walk through the farm and cut down the tree yourself" thing. My husband is really into it.
