2nd breast pump

A friend just told me that some insurances will be covering a second pump as of Jan 1 so people will have one at home and one at work. Has anyone else heard of this? I'm planning to call after I get DD down for a nap!

  • I haven't heard of that, and I would be surprised if that was true. Pumps are DME, so it's like insurance covering a new walker every year. It would be great if it was true, though.

  • Yea I doubt this is true.
  • My insurance covers two electric pumps per plan year and one manual pump. I hadn't thought of one being for work and one for home, just thought it was for in case the first one died, but that's a good idea!

  • My insurance covers one per child (I also think it's a minimum of every two years, applicable to those with kids close together).
