So I posted on the shower thread about how BIL smashed a motor into my house while I was at my baby shower a month ago. In doing this, he destroyed the eaves trough that runs along our house to take the water away from the driveway. Our weather has been really up and down with snow, and rain, and freezing, and melting, so I knew that we would have water running all over the driveway from this broken trough. I told DH that he better get his brother to hurry up and get it fixed before I fall either pregnant or with a newborn one day.
Well, it happened.
I was taking the dog out this morning, and all of the water from yesterday was frozen. Even with my boots on, and trying to walk carefully, I fell.
I didn't fall on my belly, or feel any pain when I fell, but I am freaking irate right now. I told him that this would happen. Our driveway isn't big, so you can't just walk around to another spot. And now I'm going to have to see them all at Christmas and pretend that I'm not pissed about how disrespectful and irresponsible they are. I am sure that I will be fine, and baby girl will be fine, but the point is that it could have gone much worse and he's had a month to get this damn thing fixed.
Thanks for reading!
**Update**
After sitting around for a bit, I was pretty crampy and I'm a worrier, so I decided to just go to the hospital to get everything checked out. I went straight to L&D and they did an NST on LO. The worst part about the experience was the drive there (we got a ton of unexpected snow!) but LO is doing well!! The doctor advised that I relax and do kick counts to make sure that baby keeps moving well (I was already doing kick counts for my OB, so that part is really no different). I figured that everything would be fine, but I would never forgive myself if I didn't go in and something was wrong, and I am just so thankful that baby girl is alright.
Thanks again ladies!

This! I'd be so pissed...
I was thinking the same thing....OP I know you said you didn't get hurt but if it were me, I'd go in to just get monitored and make sure that everything was ok. It sucks that it happened especially today. Oh and also I wouldn't tiptoe around the fact that you're pissed off. This needs to be dealt with so that you don't have to worry about another fall.

Oh my gosh - I would be so angry! How frustrating that he hasn't fixed it yet!
And I agree with juliasmama2010, as much as it would suck to go to the ER on Christmas Eve, you probably should go in just to make sure everything is ok.
