Wrong due date anyone?

I had my first appt last week and due to my calculations I should have been 7 weeks. My last period was oct 29 and when I got my bfp I used a clear blue test that tells you how many weeks; which said 2 to 3 weeks, which would really be 4 to 5. That was 3 weeks ago! Anyway the ultrasound tech tells me I'm only 6 weeks, and Im really pissed about it and I think she's wrong! Maybe I'm just being a crazy hormonal pregnant lady but in my mind Im supposed to be 8 weeks as of tomorrow, and I don't wanna do week 7 over again! Am I being crazy or is anybody else having a similar issue?

    No cause for concern. And yes there was a heartbeat.

    Even though it's frustrating now it's better to find out now than to be thinking you're 40 weeks later on instead of 38/39 and being induced too early. 

    I realized that with my first if I hadn't been tracking ovulation I would've thought I was about 6-7 weeks based on my LMP when really I was only 4! That's how late I ovulated!

    As of now I think it's just a "guideline", you could potentially have the baby a week early or late and all this won't matter haha but I understand where your coming from, like pp said it's an estimate and it might change again with your nxt US :)

    I was the same. I went from 8w1d back to 7w. She just said to remember how long the the little swimmers could last!
    I had just gone off BC so I estimated by my LMP but she said my ovulation could have been off since I'd literally just gone off the pill.
    I was more alarmed about growth than anything but she said to not worry. I agree! :-)

    For dating purposes, I've actually heard the earlier the U/S, the more accurate the results since early on nearly all babies develop at the same rate.

    Similar thing happened to me today. I thought I was 6 weeks but I'm already 7 according to my doc. I had my first appt today and he said it is not based on last menstrual but the size of the baby. I missed taking my 6 weeks belly shot since I thought I had time. Boooo!

    same here! I think I have longer cycles and so ovulation was later than normal. I wasn't surprised to hear my doctor tell me the baby was measuring 7 weeks 3 days at my first appointment (I was at 8 weeks 1 day based on LMP) but I was still super bummed to be "demoted." Tomorrow I will finally get to 8 weeks 2 days for real, so I'll be further than I was before I got my date changed. Whew!

    I had a similar experience at my first appointment. I thought I was 6 weeks and the doctor said 5. I'm still confused how this works as all the sue date calculators estimate a delivery of August 8th and my OB says August 18. Im super stressed about this first trimester so Im counting down the days and really looking forward to the 13 week mark!

    The same thing happened with me---I went for my first u/s on Friday thinking I was 8 weeks, but I measured 6w0d! I was disappointed, because I felt like I had two MORE weeks in my 1st trimester to stress over. Like many people have said, my OB said I probably just ovulated later than 14 days, which makes sense, since my cycles are usually between 30-33 days.

    Same hear last time around. They changed my due date but then when I went overdue, suddenly the wanted to go by the later date again and NOT induce.
                    We're Going to be a Family of 5!

    Just like you, my last period was on Oct 29. I went in for the US yesterday & was told I am 8w4d. I had today (12/24) marked as the 8th week.

    I have a feeling this will happen to me. I have a 22ish day cycle. I'm pretty sure I ovulated around Thanksgiving (could be off a few days) but unless I was getting faint positive HPTs at like 3 weeks then I'm due around August 21. If the go by my LMP I'm a week less.
