Does this EDD change make sense to you?

We did a 6 day transfer on Nov 19, 2013. According to every calculator I've found online, that makes my EDD Aug 6, 2014. That EDD puts me at 7w5d today. At today's ultrasound, for some silly reason I decided to confirm that EDD with the RE. She did confirm I was 7w5d (which is great), but she decided my EDD is actually Aug 14. That made no sense to me. They said it had something to do with the protocol of medication I'm on, and it varies, and not to trust online calculators. None of that still makes sense seeing how my baby is an adopted embryo from a whole different clinic and was clearly at a 6 day embryo stage on November 19th.

So what do you think? I'm still giving the new EDD the side eye.

That makes no sense to me at all. And I calculated it using an OB wheel, not an online calculator. I would really question that as it will change when time-sensitive stuff happens for you.

No, that doesn't make sense to me either. When I first fot to the OB the nurse tried to say I was two weeks ahead! No lady. She just couldn't do math apparently lol.

Definitely question it, because there are time sensitive things like NT and A/s scans to plan around. Plus the doc could freak you out thinking baby's not growing correctly if they're using the wrong EDD. If your RE gave you a due date I'd use that.

That doesn't make sense - I would just go over it again with your Ob/gyn when you start going there - and they will make sure to have you follow the correct due date.

Thanks ladies. I agree, it doesn't make sense. I only have one more appointment with the RE and then I go see the OB on Jan 9th. I have a feeling he's going to side eye the RE's new EDD which doesn't go along with the 7w5d that she's putting me at! Glad to know I'm not crazy....well, at least about this.

My RE originally gave me wrong due date because nurse spun wheel wrong. Said 2/14 instead of 2/4. I told her she was wrong and after some hesitation she repeated it and agreed lol. She probably looked at wrong date. I would keep your original one.

OK, so if you transferred a 6-day embryo, you were "technically" 20 days pregnant THAT day - yes, I asked the RE on my transfer day how far along I was if it worked and I had a 6dt lol. So just add 260 days (280 minus the 20) and you should get your EDD. My EDD is actually this plus one, I think they treated it like a 5dt instead of a 6dt, but it's one day and I'm measuring like a 5dt so I went with it. But yeah, the date your RE gave you sounds off to me, and I don't think the meds you're on should have anything to do with affecting you EDD and baby's development. I suppose the nice (if that's the right word to use) thing about IF is that we actually can accurately predict our due dates because we know exactly how old our embryos are and when they were transferred.

I have to say I am confused by my EDD. I had a 5dt on 11/18. The online calculators say I am 7 weeks 5 days today with an EDD of 8/6. My RE at my appointment today said that I was 7 weeks 6 days with an EDD of 8/8. It makes no sense as they have me a day further ahead but due 2 days later.

I don't get it. but then I too had a 6dt (FET) on Nov. 15th (four days before you) yet they claim I'm 7w5d with a due date of the 9th of Aug. Where as I estimated I was 8w2d with a due date of Aug. 4th. IDK, I'm trying to trust them since they finally got me ktfu, kwim?

My OB said I'm actually march 9 but the online calculators and my RE said march 7

That does sound weird. I can tell you that at my last RE ultrasound, the RE nixed all dates and went off the ultrasound saying it was the most accurate, especially that early. When I followed up at the OB he agreed that we should go off of the ultrasound and not the dates from the transfer. It's all so confusing!

I have a somewhat related question... We did d5 CCS testing and immediately froze that day. Those 2 embryos were thawed the *morning* of my FET. My RE is treating it as a d5 transfer, which makes sense to me. But then it sounds like maybe some of you are told that's actually d6, no?

Kati, you and I transferred in same day. RE is telling me EDD is 8/3. I saw that he used an OB wheel. I would think you and I wouldn't be more than a day or so off?

Also our FET was 5 days prior to weeklyplanner's and my EDD is 5 days before hers so it looks like our RE's are doing the same math.

Who knows... I complained before on the IF board about how RE's seem to prescribe different timing of things in the same protocols! This board has definitely taught me how subjective medicine is!

I should mention its my U/S tech, not my RE. My RE is out on medical leave right now. I plan to discuss with RE and OB in the new year.
