Beauty Regiments since pregnant--What have you changed?

So what beauty regiments have you ladies given up or changed since being pregnant? I gave up some of my products with salicylic acid and coloring my hair. I'm probably going to breakdown and color my roots for the holidays. How about you?

  • No Japanese straightening- my hair is a mess

  • Loading the player...
  • Switched to organic paraben free deodorant and I swear I have smelled horrible for the past 4 months... Gag
  • I've given up everything seeing as how I no longer have the energy or even care to look decent any more lol I only do my hair an make up when we go to family or holiday gatherings... and sometimes when I go out to run errands..
  • Nothing really, just to be a special snowflake :).  However, I say that not using anything salisilic and not dying my hair. I still use aluminum based antiperspirant and all my normal makeup, nothing special there.

  • Putting on make up and doing my hair are much more of a chore. I often find myself just saying screw it.

  • Nothing really. I rarely bother to blow out my hair anymore but that didn't happen all that often anyways since its so long and thick. I don't wear makeup that often but when I do its the same as what I wore pre-pregnancy. I've always used fairly gentle skin products though.

  • My shaving has ... lets just say it's decreased significantly. And I miss my retinoid creams. But I still color my hair, do my nails and use my salicylics. There's actually no research that indicates any of that is a problem.

Nothing. Nothing I use including hair color has been proven to cause any harm whatsoever so why change?

The only reason I would have seen to stop it is the smell. Just like I'd rather crawl back in bed and sleep for an extra 20 minutes than spend it styling my hair when it will just end up in a bun.

  • Shaving on a regular basis...lol...my beauty regime was pretty simple to begin with.
  • No makeup and shaving a lot less. My beauty regime was pretty minimal to begin with.

DS #1 born January 2010. DS #2 due June 2014.

  • More air drying, most days no make-up, and more comfy clothes at work - i'm not talking yoga pants, but long sleeved tees are a-ok with me these days.

  • I wear very little makeup these days, but can't go without concealer.. I gave up deodorant with aluminum and am now using Toms (supposed to be lavendar scented but I can't tell).
  • No more retinods. I've switched to a 10% glycolic moisturizer and been pretty happy with it. I also got a Clarisoic on black friday and so far I feel like it's really helping with the little bumps along my jawline.
  • Beauty regiment...what's that?

  • I switched to Paraben free shampoo and conditioner as well as moisturizer. I wear Bare Minerals makeup so I figure that's pretty safe. I haven't painted my nails in 2 months and I have a whole plastic bin with nail polish. I love nail polish! But I've been a little scared of all the chemicals.

The Clarisonic is amazeballs. I wish I could buy one for everyone on Earth. My skin is in pretty good condition to begin with, but when I stop using it for a few days (if I forget to pack it on vacation or something) I see the difference almost immediately.

    Best skincare product ever.

  • I went ahead and bought the expensive purifying balm I've always loved. I've broken out and since I'm KU I decided I deserve the soothing natural stuff.

  • The only thing I have stopped is my bi-weekly mani/pedi's but that's more related to wanting to save money for baby.
  • Pedi's due to not wanting to shave!
I have no energy for hair or makeup!
  • I stopped My retinoid cream and Botox. My doc said it was safe to continue to have laser hair removal but I feel weird about having it done while prego.

Speaking of, I have those jaw bumps too!!! What in the world are they?! They're not zits, just....bumps. They drive me nuts.

Probably milia or keratis pilaris (which I have likely misspelled). For either, try using a glycolic acid or lactic acid toner, cleanser and/or moisturizer. Works like a charm, but it will take consistent use. And they're perfectly safe while pregnant.

  • I have tried to be much better about washing my face on a daily basis. My skin starts to hate me when I'm pregnant, so I'm trying to keep the acne away!

  • Nothing has really changed. I've started doing my makeup more, which is weird. I guess I'm just feeling more girlie or something!

  • My armpits look more like... hmmm... a forest? Shaving is now a monthly routine. Haha!
