LO took his first steps today! He was standing up next to the baby gate crying for mama, I put out my hands and he took two steps towards me! I'm so proud of him
He's been fairly ahead of the curve and been practicing standing up/letting go for a while. Still no first words over here though! He kind of says Mama, but I don't know if he associates it with me. I'm putting it in the "doesn't count yet" category. It's crazy how every baby is different and does things in their own order.
Here's how it happened for us:
Holding his Head up: 9 Weeks
First Laughs: 16 Weeks Old
Pulling to a stand: 4 Months
Posting to all fours: 5 Months + 2 Weeks
Army Crawl + Sitting up: 5 Months + 3 Weeks
Standing up, Letting go: 6 Months + 3 Weeks
Full Crawl: 7 Months + 2 Weeks
First Steps: 8 Months + 2 Weeks
(Not trying make anyone feel inadequate, just curious about everyone else's timeline)
EDIT: and yes super scary, they grow up way too fast!
Holy cow, we are still trying to make it to full crawling. (He does move, but he does not do the nice organized hand-foot-hand-foot crawl.) The only thing he did on the early side was sit up unassisted at 5 months and get his first tooth at exactly 5 months.

No Teeth here yet either, thank god (breastfeeding)
The teeth are no big deal, honest. He has two on top and two on the bottom now and I have had no problems breastfeeding at all. I have never been bitten. My mom and MIL (neither of whom BF'd) said, "Oh, you'll have to wean now that he has teeth." So not true. I will keep going for as long as we both want to.

We teethed major early (he has 8 and has had them since about 6 months), and he sits up like a pro, but totally cannot put it together to crawl or even army crawl yet. He loves to stand up holding onto something if I put him close, but I have to be there to catch him cuz he'll probably fall.

This is us too! He was sitting unassisted on the earlier side 5 months so I thought he'd be crawling by now. We're almost at nine months and no crawling yet he can stand and hold on to things but cannot pull himself to stand yet.
Congrats on your LO taking his first steps. Must have been so wonderful to see
UMMMM holy shit, what?! Rhys isn't even crawling yet!
ETA: Rhys has been late for EVERYTHING. He didn't roll over until after 6 months. Oh well, he just takes his time! He is very careful, quiet, and observant.

Nov siggy challenge: animals eating Thanksgiving food
Connor has been early for gross and fine motor skills. He actually was lifting his head up at birth. Not for long periods obviously, but the nurses were very surprised and said it may had to do with him being late. He took a step without holding onto something a few days ago, but he fell before the second step so I really didn't count it as first steps.
Re: Aww first steps!!!!
What a sweet Christmas present. :-)
