Monday shower AW thread

Am I the only idiot who waited this long?  Initially my friend (who has only stepkids, no babies) thought it would be OK to do after New Years, but I managed to convince her to push it back to now, right before I hit 36 weeks.

Anyway, we had an awesome time.  My mother decided on a book theme, and guests were asked to bring a used parenting or baby book that they or their children had loved.  I'm really excited to go through all of them.  Then we had children's book trivia games.  There were a few folks at the party who were both elementary school teachers and parents, so they did really well at that.  Lots and lots of tasty food, including two of my husband's specially-seasoned meat dishes that take days to prepare.  We also did onesie decorating, and some of the onesies are really beautiful.

And now I think I have all vital gear, except for the pack-and-play which I plan to use as bassinet, which a shower guest told me is in the mail to my house.  Now I have no excuse not to organize stuff...

    Glad you had a nice shower. I had mine 2 weekends ago and I felt it was so so late as I wanted an early Nov shower. I couldn't imagine waiting til after New Years. I would be pulling my hair out! haha

    Nope I'm the biggest idiot of all for having it on Jan 12 at 38 weeks.
    Maybe I can bring the baby, who knows?

    My sister threw me a surprise shower on Friday night - I was totally floored. It was awesome. I got lots of clothes and cute owl decorations, and I got to spend time with some great friends. She had talked about throwing me a sprinkle after baby was born, but she and her friends decided to do something sooner. :)
