Mommas, I need a little help/advice. I moved Ellie to her actual crib this weekend after months of sleeping in the PNP. She was getting too big for the bassinet part and so it had to go. Before surgery she slept mostly in the swing. In the hospital, they got her use to sleeping at an incline with blankets around her to make a U shape. (Like you roll up a large blanket and out it in a pillowcase to hold it in a U shape then her butt went in the bottom of the U and the sides held her in place on the incline.) Well now she doesn't have that and the crib feels too open for her. Before, she couldn't really move her legs much but now when she kicks in her sleep she wakes herself up because they move so much. I normally put her down with a muslin blanket wrapped around her and tucked under the pillowcase. It worked very well in the PNP. I've tried wrapping the blankets around her at night in the crib but she's moving so much that it ends up gathered at her waist. Then when she wakes up she pulls it up and buries her face in it. What would you change to help her feel more secure in the crib? She wants to feel something up next to her sides, like someone is holding her. I don't want make her sleeping situation even more unsafe than it already is.
This is a pic of how the PNP was set up. Ignore the pillow and Pooh and receiving blanket (we just use the muslin), I had been cleaning for company.
