"I'm not touching you!"

You guys remember that commercial with the siblings where one is hovering ever-so-close to the other and taunting, "I'm not touching you"? I was reminded if it today. I had three people -not one, not two, but three - who started to touch my belly but stopped just short of making contact and just kinda kept their hand there for a minute like it was resting on a force field or something. I don't know if I had an involuntary facial expression that gave them pause or what, but it was really weird. Either go ahead and touch it, ask permission, or don't even try. A mixture of those options is just awkward.

Anyone else have this strange halfway belly grab?

    That is really weird and sketchy. I've only had one person touch mine. She is my moms friend and she did it early on at like 11 weeks when I didn't really have a belly. So it was ultra weird.

    My drunk SIL did this to me all night last night a Christmas gathering. The "force field " is a good way to describe it. The most annoying part was she kept saying "I'm not touching your stomachs, I know you don't like that."
    Well I don't like you strangely hovering over me, either!

    I had a work meeting in Dallas and everyone felt the need to touch my belly. I tried to do the arm across my belly to block and take a step back but they would just move around my arm and touch a spot. This happened 7 times before we broke for lunch. Weirdest part was this was my first time meeting them in person since my location is in Houston.

    This is one of those things that has never bothered me, which is weird, because I hate to be touched in general.

    I become like a puppy at about 7 months.. The baby is so low now it makes my skin crawl!! Please step away from my blump!!!

    My mom and SIL have touched by belly. With them I am fine. I told H that if his mom touches it I will likely punch her.

    I've had a couple co workers who think it's okay to touch my stomach. I'm like you do realize you're not touching the baby, you're touching my squished organs? Haha

    When i was pregant with my son and people would try to touch i'd tell them i was fat not pregnant. I have personal space isues anyway so don't grab my belly
