Okay, so I need some input.
We send our dog to a privately owned doggy daycare 2x per week, at $15 a day. The woman who owns the daycare picks Lucy up and brings her home on these days. We used to send her 5x per week, but cut back as she grew out of puppy-hood. When we sent her 5 days a week, we'd tip the owner $100 at Christmas. Now that she only goes 2x per week, should I still tip $100? H thinks no, but I think yes.
Also, if it matters, I've used her services for about 7 years with my parents' dog, and dogs of my own.
Re: Holiday Tipping for Doggy Daycare
If you want to do more, do more.
If I didn't feel an attachment towards the person (other service people we tip), usually I'd cut it down based on using that service less. i.e. we tip our cleaning service based on what we pay them, so if they were cleaning less, I'd tip them less. But I don't have a long history/taking care of my house is different than taking care of my pet.
