We're switching to hypoallergenic formula (from bf) - can you give me tips on how to save money on formula? How to find coupons, sales, etc? (Insurance does not cover it)
Which formula? Is it something like Nutramigen or something less expensive like Gentlease?
The first thing I'll say is formula coupons, formula coupons, and more formula coupons. I cut other coupons and trade on here for formula coupons. So I've traded Desitin coupons, Gerber coupons, Huggies coupons, etc. for formula coupons.
At some stores, when you buy baby items or formula, you will get a coupon for formula that can be combined with formula checks. So sometimes when I buy Gentlease at Target, I'll get a coupon for $10 off Gentlease. With a $5 formula check, that brings the price down from $25 to $10 a can. Awesome deal. So you can trade for those, too. Kroger, if you have Kroger by you, sometimes has BOGO coupons for formula (small cans). So try that.
Also, check...I think it is babycheapskate.com posts daily deals and sometimes they are formula-related. So check that out, too. Also, ask for samples at your pedi office. I get samples every time I go!

Try looking on Ebay for coupons. I was able to get $100 worth of coupons ($5 each) at an auction for about $30. I also kept eyes out on all the sales, since the Alimentum does not go on sale too often. Around here it's $28 per can. Once I was able to get it at BRU for $22 per can. I also would shop CVS alot because I was always able to get a coupon for $3 off a $15 order. And start signing up you parents and any willing friends for the formula checks.
Use store brands. I know the kirkland formula(from costco) is the same as enfamil, because kirkland was able to get the recipe once the patent expired on it. The walmart organic is made by PBM vermont which also makes organic formula that is sold at whole foods and natural food stores.
