IF Gals?

edited December 2013 in August 2014 Moms
I know we have many shout outs for people who understand the subsets, examples PGAL gals (I'm one) and Mom's of 2+ or 3+, and at some point a little later I'm sure there will be MoM check in's (mom's of multiples).  But I have yet to see any shout outs yet from us group of ladies that are IF.

So who went through treatments for their LO?  What was the treatment that finally brought you this BFP?
Any interest in a weekly check in?  I know we can chat and such on the PAIF board but thought us Aug gals specifically could at least have a little "hello!"  to remember who of us made it over.  So no matter if you were 3T or IF, First or secondary IF, an IUI or IVF or a surprise inbetween treatment miracle how about a little intro?

QOTD:  How long before you "graduate" from your RE?  (And how many U/S at your RE before you move on?)

I'll go first!  For those of you mobile that can't see my siggy our BFP this go around came from a FET after our first IVF had no fresh transfer due to high progesterone.  It was our only embie that made it to freeze and this was the end of our money so this was really our final Hail Mary cycle.  We do not have any other living children.  I spent almost four years on 3T and the last six months on IF board.

QOTD:  I believe I will graduate after next Friday's U/S (which will be our fourth U/S with RE).  But then I have a sit down with the RE at 10 weeks so I'm not really sure.

  • I was on the 2IF board. I am aware that we were extremely lucky in the whole IF world, as we got pregnant our first round of Femara/trigger shot/progesterone combo after TTC for a year. My RE calls it his "special cocktail".

I have had one u/s with my RE. I have another one in 2 weeks, and if all looks well then I will be released to my OB.

And I would love an IF check-in every week!

  • I would like to participate! Kati - I remember you from 3T! Congratulations!!!! Here's my background. DH and I tried on our own for almost 4 years. I have PCOS and also had my right tube removed. After failed IUIs, We conceived DS1 on our first IVF attempt. He was born 12-14-11. We had 5 snow babies and we did an FET Dec 3rd. We only thawed one so we are extremely fortunate to still have 4 snow babies. QOTD: My RE typically does 2 Betas and 2 u/s as long as everything is going well. My first u/s is the day after Christmas and I'll be 6 weeks exactly. The second u/s will probably be around 8 weeks and hopefully I can graduate then.

IVF #1: 4-11-11= Transferred 1 beautiful blastocyst I named "Nugget"

  • Thanks for starting the post! I have been on the 3T/IF board for 2+ Lurking daily bur rarely post. We did 6 IUI's and got lucky with out first IVF cycle. We transferred 1 and everything looked good at our first u/s. We has our 1st u/s at RE this week at 6 weeks, 3 days. Everything looked good, so he is transferring us to OB moving forward. It seems early to me, but I guess it's a good thing, as everything looks good.

  • I haven't been on any of the boards for IF here, hope it's okay that I reply. We got our BFP after our second FET in three months. They were our last two frozen and our previous three FETs didn't work. Our RE told me before we started the cycle that she thought our embryos just don't freeze well and would probably suggest fresh cycles from now on. Shocked to say the least.

A little of our background: We started TTC when we got married in 2005. In 2009, I finally accepted that something was wrong and this was probably not going to happen without assistance. We had BFPs in that time but nothing ever stuck. Our RE did testing and found no reason for loses but found we also dealing with a low sperm count and quickly recommended IVF/ICSI.  Our first IVF brought us our DS who unfortunately passed away at 4 months. Our second IVF brought us our DD and now our fourth FET has brought us this BFP.

QOTW: Because one of our issues is RPL, I know I won't be released until at least 10 weeks. We've already had one ultrasound with our RE and will have another at 10 weeks and go from there.
    DX: MFI and RPL

I love this idea as I'm obviously an IF girl!

What was the treatment that finally brought you this BFP? Our bfp was a result of our 2nd FET where we transferred 4 day 3 embies and now have 1 little bean snuggling in! I will be 6 weeks tomorrow!

Any interest in a weekly check in?  would love a check in over here as I love to visit both boards!

QOTD:  How long before you "graduate" from your RE?  (And how many U/S at your RE before you move on?) This I am not 100% on but he had told me before between 10-12 weeks I believe and I will receive an u/s every week...except this one since we are on vacation.  Our 2nd is on the 30th at 7w1d!

I have PCOS DS was a clomid success after 3 rounds. This kiddo was a totally different situation. Tried for 2 years on different versions of clomid and letrazol. Did two unsuccessful IUIs then moved on to injectables w IUI and here we are w a BFP!

I just graduated on Friday from our RE and see the OB on the 27th
  • This was our first IUI after over a year of trying. We were definitely lucky! We've had one u/s and everything looked good, so we've graduated to an ob already. I'll be 8 weeks Monday.

OK Ladies, since there is a small group of us I think I will start the check in on Tuesdays (Since several of us already do grad check in's on our old boards on Thursdays).

And of course, I wanted to be as inclusive as I could, so any that said was it OK you posted the answer is YES!  Welcome aboard.  So Tuesdays be on the look out for it.  I'll try to be consistent.  Anymore that see this after the fact can of course join as well.

  • I if it's ok I would like to join, that is if this LO sticks. We conceived our DS on our 8th cycle with the RE. Our successful cycle was an IUI (follistim and progesterone). This time we actually did it on our own but I am back in my RE's care as after I got my BFP I called my OB and said I was worried about progesterone levels and she said it was best to go back to my RE, so I did and first round of blood work came back with very low progesterone levels. I have started 200 mg suppositories and go for more blood work in the morning. At this point I don't know if/ when I will graduate to my OB.

TTC#1 May 2009- July 2010 on our own with no luck

Started with RE in August 2010, dx with unexplained IF and then finally our 3rd IUI cycle using Follistim and Trigger resulted in our wonderful little man.  Born 12/2/11

TTC#2 Never really prevented, but were careful early on as Dr. reccomended

Surprise BFP 12/16/13, started progesterone immediately as first numbers came back low, but betas were good.  Progesterone wasnt enough. Natural MC 12/24/13.

Back with RE as of January 2014...

    5/27/14- Chemical Pregnancy :(

    April 2015 IVF#1

    5/13/15- BFP, please stick LO!

  • What was the treatment that finally brought you this BFP?

We had an IVF that changed to an IUI and 1IVF in november, 2 embryos in a 3 day transfer. We got our BFP with a singleton!!!

Any interest in a weekly check in?
    Yes.

QOTD: How long before you "graduate" from your RE? (And how many U/S at your RE before you move on?) RE says 10W. I had my U/S on 12/17 at 6W4D. We are going again on 1/6. I think 2 more U/S. She did mention that I should start looking for an OB/GYN!!!!!
  • I would like to particpate too. I posted a lot on 3T when I was trying for my 1st. DH and I tried on our own for a little over a year with unexplained and after 3 failed IUI's, IVF brought us our BFP with our DS who is just 2.

After trying for a few months on our own we went back to the RE and did a FET cycle which brought us a BFP. I had 2 betas with the my RE and today was my 4th ultrasound. I am just waiting on bloodwork results and then I graduate and go to my OB next week. I am having trouble with my ticker but I am 8 weeks 2 days.
