I am hoping that baby lets me enjoy all of our delicious family recipes. She was okay at thanksgiving, but I got sick after one cupcake at dessert. I'll skip the cupcakes this time around and hopefully she'll let me have a slice of pie or two. My favorite at christmas time is my MIL's glazed carrots and sweet potatoes, and at my family, I love our bratwurst with saurkraut. Yummm. Need to get all the kraut I can, since I won't be eating it while BFing.
We have a meatless meal on Christmas eve and I love this breaded fish my grandfather makes, amazing. I am also looking forward to ham on Christmas because I only eat Ham twice a year so it's a treat to me. New year's eve also is seafood I am hoping for some good lobsters and crab legs this year.
For NYE we are having a work potluck, so I'm hoping that there is a lot of cheese, fried stuff, and sweets. Then I'm hoping for a repeat of that theme later that night. And also that the inevitable heartburn is worth it.

I was really looking forward to my dad making Rouladen this year since my bro and his wife will be in town and we haven't had it in forever... it's a traditional German dish of thin beef rolled up with mustard, pickles, bacon, and onion. It's his mom's (my grandmother's) recipe and it's sooo good! But he had to go out of town to help his mom for medical issues and won't be home for Xmas We're all super bummed. No idea what we're having now...

We'll start the day at the in laws, opening presents. Then FIL makes a glorious breakfast. Waffles, pancakes, french toast, bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy etc etc etc etc.
That afternoon/evening we head to my parents house (thank goodness. Every once in a while my sister insists on having it at her house, and her husband cooks weird food) so it'll be ham sandwiches, rotel, summer sausage and 6 different kinds of cheese, cookies, cannoli cups, and other kinds of deliciousness. Mainly, I'm excited about the rotel. I could eat that stuff out of the fondue pot with a spoon if no one would judge me.
I'm not sure what we're doing for New Years Eve, but so long as it includes cheese/sausage/crackers and peel and eat shrimp with cocktail sauce, I don't really care what it is that we're doing.
8-10 different kinds of Christmas cookies, assorted hors d'oeuvres including salmon ball & crackers, stuffing, mashed potatoes. Normally I look forward to an assortment of fancy cheeses & crackers but we won't be doing that this year since we're traveling over the holidays and that's too hard to transport. Might have to do that on NYE instead.
In related news, I'll definitely be missing my champagne over the next 2 weeks...it's normally my favorite part.
Once baby is here, ALL THE CHAMPAGNE will be mine.
I don't normally like ham but I'm so excited for it this year, I've been craving it since Thanksgiving. My grandma makes a pistachio cake that is the amazing, I can't wait to eat a little of that even though sweets make me sick.
I'm making this triple chocolate moose cake that my husband saw on Pinterest while I was skimming one day, which I hope turns out as good as it looks. Also, I love all the appetizers and finger food we have on Christmas Eve! I'm just ready to pig out!
We do seafood extravaganza on Christmas Eve, lobster tails, clams, mussels, calamari, shrimp (you get the picture), I'm so looking forward to that! My Mom's Stroufoli!!!!! Easily the best part of Christmas is the homemade Stroufoli! And then NYE the filet mignon and all the appetizers/finger foods mmmmmm.... Oh, and I forgot, the Christmas morning Monkey Bread!!!! I'm so excited!
Yes! We do mexican every year for Christmas. So my favorites are the guacamole, chile rellenos, jalapeno peppers stuffed with cream cheese wrapped in bacon, posole, tamales. And my cousin always makes the most simple "cookie" that I can eat my weight in. She spreads PB between two Ritz crackers and dips those in the white almond bark and then decorates them with red & green sprinkles. It's that perfect salty/sweet combo that I can't stop eating. And then for New Year's, it's more tamales and black eyed peas.

@dbautista88 - I want tamales! That sounds wonderful!
It's just DH, DD, and me for Christmas this year. I'm making this Christmas brunch egg, sausage thing my mom always makes, and this Bohemian tea stuff that's good. And a cherry cheesecake...and we got a heavenly ham. So, I'm excited about all of it!!
I'm bummed because nothing tastes right to me right now. I made my favorite Christmas treat. Chocolate covered peanut butter/ rice krispies balls. I was so excited for them and for some reason all I taste is the small amount of powdered sugar in them. Everyone else says they're perfect, otherwise I would think I messed up the recipe. This baby just doesn't like sweets in general. Tomorrow we're making a prime rib dinner though. That should be good.
I always look forward to homemade christmas cookies. I'm also making a hot crab dip this year. Never had it before, but I'm really looking forward to it.

It’s not that I don’t like you, it’s that I don’t know you. Stranger Danger.
Only if you describe what "it all" includes to facilitate easier food fantasizing.
