Bloody stool-total freak out

Ok so I totally freaked out tonight when LO had some mucousy blood tinge in his poop. He had a few blowouts today but was acting fine then right before bed had another blow out but with some blood. It almost looks like light period spotting (in color). I was crying as I called the dr thinking we would be making an ER trip. However the doc was totally not phased. Said it could be from the blowouts or my diet and to just cut out dairy and see what happens. I'm relieved but still freaked. Anyone else experience this with an allergy?

In haven't personally, but have heard that bloody stool is a sign that the baby having an intolerance to dairy. I'd follow up with your Pediatrition but they might tell you to cut out dairy from your diet as well. Good luck!!

My first had this and it was a dairy issue as well. I had been breastfeeding but exhausted one night I told DH to give him the formula sample we had and the next morning is when the blood was there.

Yea I'm guessing it was the ice cream I had the night before. I hadn't eaten ice cream until then and I don't drink milk so I'm guessing it was the abundance of dairy.

Blood's typically a sign of some form of intolerance or allergy. Talk to the pedi about the best way to proceed.

Yea I had called the ped last night and he was very nonchalant and told me to cut out dairy. So bye bye ice cream and cheese...boo
