It's official. BFP :) no signs of PG either. Question: when do you tell?

I broke down and peedOAS on Wed night because I was really nervous. I have absolutely no pregnancy symptoms. Im not tired, my boobs are the same size, I'm actually full of energy. Last time I had a ton of signs. Well, it was a bright pink line 7dp5dt and Fri. was my beta to confirm. My level was 396. 100x higher than my last bfp which was a 30. 2nd beta is tomorrow. Hopefully we'll get great news for my husband's birthday. Still being cautiously optimistic because last time was a huge disappointment. If the news is good tmrw I'd really love to share the good news with my immediate family on Christmas. I figure they'll get it when I'm not drinking wine anyway. We made the mistake of sharing too early last time but we were really naive. Now that we've got a more realistic idea of things, I feel like I should tell them so they can be cautiously optimistic with us. Thoughts?

    Congratulations!

    I would tell my immediate family about a BFP right away, because I would want their support if it didn't result in a take home baby. And I would definitely share it at Christmas regardless of timing.

    Yay congrats!! That is a really strong Beta! My last cycle did not end ideally last time either, and I did not share early, but I did share after I lost him. I felt like I took away a little of the joy by not sharing earlier. This time I will tell them but for them to be cautiously optimistic. I say share the wonderful news and let them support you and be happy and excited with you. Congrats! Merry Christmas to you!!! :)

    Congratulations!  I am currently 6 weeks and we have told my mom and dhs mom but that's it and we are waiting to tell the rest of the family closer to 10 weeks.  I would LOVE to tell family for Christmas but I'm just way too nervous and want to wait until after we hear the heartbeat.  You definitely need to do what's best for you though...everyone is different.

    Congrats! Thats a strong BETA. Me personally I would not share on xmas.  I wouldn't feel comfortable sharing with anyone until I heard the heartbeat.  I won't be drinking on xmas either bc I'm in the 2ww so my family can think whatever they want.

    6 Failed IUIs (Clomid and Gonal F).  
    IVF #1 began August 2013- BC, 4 days of Estrace, stimmed with Gonal F and Menopur, Ganirelix, 9R 5M 5F, Medrol and Doxycycline, 5 day transfer of 2 early blastocysts- good quality, Progesterone, Estrace, and baby aspirin, BETA on 9/20 BFN,   IVF #2 began September 2013, stimming with Gonal F (higher dose) and Menopur, Ganirelix, 18R 14M 9F with ICSI, 5 day transfer of 2 BBs one was starting to hatch, 2 frosties: 1  BB and 1 AC, BETA on 10/21, BFN BETA was a 5- chemical 
    Getting some more testing and trying to figure out what the issue is before FET in December, started acupuncture on 11/10, RLP and some other BW nothing major to report except slightly high Prolactin. Prolactin was slightly high when I started with my RE and I already had an MRI which was Neg.  Endo biopsy=negative.  WTF is wrong with us???
    12/18/13 FET of 1 BB and 1 AC.  Hoping for a miracle.  Beta 12/26 Low BETA-8 2nd BETA 5- chemical
    After 3 failed transfers IDK where to go from here.  Still no real answers as to why this isn't working.  Getting a second opinion in February and looking into immune testing.  
    2/14- NEW RE- Immune testing showed a partial dq alpha match with DH- On prednisone and did intralipids prior to transfer.  3/14 Lupron, gonal f, menopur, HGH.  ER 15 mature all 15 fertilized!  5dt of an early blast grade 1 and an expanded blast grade 2.  BETA on 4/21.  1 grade 2 embryo frozen
    BETA #1 59 BETA #2 148 BETA #3 283 BETA #4 2,783! US at 6w2d shows 1 bean measuring right on track! HR 121.  US at 8w3d measuring on track HR 177. Released form my RE.  EDD 12/28

    Congrats! I am planning to share earlier this time around. We only told really close friends and my sisters initially. We were planning to tell my parents after 10 weeks and then I had a miscarriage just before the 10 week mark. It was really rough having to call my parents and tell them that I had been pregnant but wasn't anymore.

    RE referral from ObGYN in late Jan. 2013 -- Testing Confirms Unexplained IF 

    IUI #"s1 - 3 (Femara + IUI) April - June 2013 - all BFN

      Decided to do IVF... Began stimming on September 10th!  Egg Retrieval 9/20/13.  19 eggs: 6 to mature to freeze after 6 fertilized with ICSI

     3 morula stage embryos transferred on 9/25/13.....Beta #1 on 10/4/13/ = 7.5  Beta #2 on 10/6/13 =  negative

      IVF#2 - Lupron plan  (set to begin on 10/28/13)  (Planning on thawing and fertilizing our 6 eggs with ICSI as well as all of the mature eggs they retrieve with this fresh cycle.)

     Late October 2013 - ectopic pregnancy - methotrexate injection....benched 3 months

    CD1 - 12/5/13...Lupron set to start on 12/26/13; CD1 - 1/2/14....Baseline 1/3/14....begin follistim tonight and continue with lupron.  (Got my calendar today!  IVF#2 is a go!)

    ER = 1/14/14  (11 eggs....9 were mature. 9 fertilized.  Of the 6 mature eggs we thawed, only 4 fertilized.  At this time, we have 13 eggs fertilized and growing.  Waiting for news about a 3-day or 5-day transfer.)

    ET = 1/19/14  (5dt).....3 blastocysts transferred!   (All nine embryos didn't make it to freeze.  =(  )

    Congratulations!  And I wouldn't worry about not having any PG symptoms, most everything I've read says most women don't start feeling any symptoms until 6 weeks.  As for telling, it's up to you--if you would want to share any bad news with them, then no harm in telling them the positive news now.  We are personally waiting to tell everyone, just don't want to be too open until everything is more set in motion.

    Congrats!  I personally would wait a bit more since I had a previous loss.... atleast until I saw a heartbeat but if it is the only time in the next month or so that your whole family is together It would be so conflicting!   Good luck on whatever you decide!

    First of all congrats!!! Thats an awesome first beta! I agree with sk8terwoman, if worst case scenario you had to tell them bad news and were ok with them knowing then go ahead and share the good news now. For me, I don't want to say a Peep until I'm 12 weeks, mainly because I've never had an actual pregnancy, other than 2 cp's and those betas were rly low so I never got to get excited anyway. Its easier for me to deal with bad news with just my DH. Im tired of giving ppl the excuse of saying "they mean well" I would rather avoid any situation of them (esp the inlaws) saying something insensitive and hurtful when im trying to cope with whats going on.

    We got our first BFP this past weekend and we told our families right away.  They know everything we are going through and have been so supportive and they had been waiting with bated breath to hear any news.  My Aunt and Uncle actually payed for our IVF so I was definitely going to tell them.  I figure if my pregnancy ends in a C/P or miscarriage I would want their support anyways so I wasn't afraid to tell family.

    For me, I would tell my mom and H's mom right away, and possibly my 3 best friends, since they would know when we were cycling. I can't imagine not having the support if things didn't turn out well.

    Thanks for the advice ladies! 2nd beta was 1666! I actually made a dumb mistake today. I printed pics of my positive pregnancy test to give to our moms, and left them at my mom's accidentally so she and my sis found them. So much for a secret or a surprise!

    April '14 Planning IVF attempt #3. Adding Cetrotide. Doc consult at the end of this month.
