Well DH was just diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm and aortic disease. He was born with a bicuspid valve which has caused this problem. Unfortunately the aneurism is pretty large and in need of surgery ASAP. The valve will be replaced as well. However, he is beyond blessed to have found this when he did. We are going through a lot. But lots of prayers helps.
Also, for those of you who remember, I was pregnant when my sister had this exact same surgery. It affects less than 2% of people. So how this happened to them both, I'll never know. But having her success has really helped us through this.
It's not easy and scary as hell. But we are looking at surgery being either Friday or after the new year. I've been MIA with all this going on. It's been a whirlwind. Please hug your spouses a little tighter tonight. We may feel young and invincible but we aren't. We have but one body to get us through. I never could've pictured this happening in a million years. But I'm ready for this to be over and to go back to a normal life.

Hugs, prayers, and positive vibes headed your way. You and your family will be on my mind. I hope that you have support to sit with you through the surgery, the more the better. It helped me through my dad's surgery; they just kept my mind in a balanced place.
