How much do you give? We have just been feeding LO until he doesn't want more which is usually about half a container or sometimes the whole container (homemade purée container is about 4oz) is a whole container too much?
Mine only gets one oz cube per feeding and we do two feedings per day, once in the morning and once at night. But now reading all the other responses, I'm wondering if he should get more.
My lo eats one stage 2 jar of earths best over 2-3 days... sometimes she has a little oatmeal (teasooon?) Or bits of banana or something else but its not really much more than playing. I think she needs more since she's been up to nurse a couple of times overnight. I'm going to start offering food 3x a day instead of twice.
@elmoali Is your little one still drinking the same amount of formula/bm during the day and eating all of that too??
Pretty close lol he's not a big drinker even before solids and he's so damn tiny that the doctor said if he won't drink more give him more food. We went back and forth and some days he doesn't get a solids dinner if he had an especially low bottle day. We actually just added the morning cereal as a way to sneak two extra ounces in him.
I feel like I'm so behind. E turned 6 months 4 days ago and I only started trying to introduce foods a couple of weeks ago. So far she has only tried oatmeal, sweet potato, avocado, mango, and green beans. This week we are introducing pears, apples, and banana. I try to offer it once a day, but not always. She's not too crazy about non-boob food yet.
2 tablespoons of baby oatmeal mixed with BM in the morning. I usually give a peice of fruit in a mesh feeder sometime mid-day. And half a container of a veggie and 2 tablespoons of cereal at night. He refuses most veggies . He picks cereal above all other food he even refuses it if I add banana in it. I hope I don't have a picky eater on my hands.
My lo doesn't really have an interest in food yet....we've tried oatmeal, bananas, pears and now trying sweat potatoes. She's not interested in any of it really
Nope @ChicagoChic82 We haven't started yet either. I'm planning to after the holiday craziness is over. Solids and sleeping in his crib all at once - fun!

This. We are closer to eight months than seven, and I feel like after 3 months she still isn't loving it. We have tried peas, sweet potato, squash, apples, pears, rice, etc. She will sometimes take up to maybe an ounce at most, but most of time a tablespoon is all she will eat. She was a preemie, but I am getting a slight bit nervous...
Nope! We're one week away from six months. We got the go-ahead from his pediatrician to start giving them to him at almost 5 months, but we were going to the U.S. for Thanksgiving, which was our first time traveling with LO, and we thought adding solids to the mix at that time might be a little masochistic. Then, DH started getting really sad at the idea of his little baby growing up, so we decided to wait until 6 months even, on New Year's Day. LO stopped STTN a week ago (I'm up now because he woke up hungry at 5 AM), so I'm going to suggest to DH that we start today, because we're both exhausted.
Re: Speaking of solids
She gets a tbsp of oatmeal in the morning. I also offer a banana or melon segment for her to gnaw on.
I'm starting to add a second meal in the evenings. Kind of doing BLW so I have given her squash and sweet potato so far. Today she gummed a cracker.
This is such a busy time, I don't feel like we're on a real eating schedule yet. She doesn't really seem to care about the food yet.
