As a FTM I'm struggling with waiting. I guess it's anxiety or anticipation. Waiting for gender scan on January 7th, waiting for LO to be here in June...just ranting right now. Any words of wisdom for me?

Edit: you team green mamas have such amazing will power!!

Anxious FTM here too.. Our gender scan is not until February!! I told my friend that we might do an earlier scan, and she asked me why it was so important to know the gender early. I couldn't come up with a good answer, I just need to know!! =D

  • It is long but the wait is nice too. Gives you time to get your body ready, make sure your long-run eating habits are good. Time for reading and educating on l&d, not for just yourself but for your partner. And time to do things like build a registry, plan the nursery, maybe make a will if you haven't already. Ther pe are some very fundamental questions that having a child raises: what faith, if any, will they be? Who will the god parents be? What is the nature of their role? How do you feel about medical interventions during labour? I'm on my second and am shocked at how fast it is going. I feel like it have a huge list of things I want to get done before baby arrives and have no idea where I'm going to find the time.
  • Not much to ad except we have our anatomy scans the same day!!!

I'm envisioning the nursery so I wanna know. Although its similar for boy or girl. And I think DH will get even more excited when we have the scan :)

As for the baby coming in June. It seems so soon and I feel I'll prepared. My friend said "you're going to be someone's mom".....I freaked out a bit;) (normal right?!)
  • The best advice I can offer is to take the time to enjoy your pregnancy. It goes by SO quickly and, before you know it, you'll have these big, independent kids and wonder where the heck the time went.

We know that this is absolutely our last child so I'm trying very hard to savor every moment of this pregnancy, even the not so fun ones. It's a little bittersweet for me. I wish this pregnancy would slow down!

  • It seems to be going slow...but it's not!! I can still remember telling my mom was KU with my first...now she's 9! And I'm pretty sure all I did was blink and that quickly she changed.

Savor it, because the time really does fly! I'm anxious to know what I'm having too (we're even opting for an early elective u/s to find out!) but before you know it the baby will be here!
  • Our anatomy scan is on the 9th which is the day before our anniversary so waiting is hard but we know it's worth it :). I think after we know the gender, it'll be easier for me to pass the time on preparing the nursery etc.

  • Our anatomy scan is the 7th to!! It does seem like such a long wait, but it will come quick! I know this bc as a teacher, the break will fly by and we finback on the 6th. Plus it's a bday present for me (I'm the 5th) and my hubby whose bday is the 27th oh jan!
Jan 7th countdown here we come!!
  • Mine is January 9 th but we are waiting till January 18 th to find out as a family when step kids get here. That's the plan at least but I'm dying to know too.
