So what do others think of the Florida State University quarterback winning the Heisman trophy with what happened off field? I understand that the Heisman should go to the best football player for the season. What I don't understand is how people can give this guy a free pass when his DNA was found on the lady (along with a second person) but they decided that since they didn't know who the second person was so they couldn't bring charges against Winston.
In my eyes he was not found to be either innocent or guilty. It also made me mad when I heard that the police was laughing when talking about this and the fact that they didn't want to press charges. Then at half time of the Army/ Navy game they asked him about this and his response was getting me so upset that I had to turn of the TV until the game was back on.

I don't think he is getting a free pass, considering the amount of coverage I have seen about this on ESPN and the other sports networks. The State Police conducted an investigation, and through that investigation of an event that took place over a year ago, they determined that there was not enough evidence to bring charges. This is something that happens all over the country each and every day.
Something most likely happened that night. College parties and sex often lead to such accusations, and sometimes they are accurate and sometimes they are not. No doubt, if her attorney feels that there is a civil case there, it will go forward in that direction.
Look at the Kobe case. I think 99% of this country feels that Kobe got away with rape, and that DA actually brought charges against Bryant, only to have it dropped because the accuser refused to testify. Civil case went forward, and the parties agreed to an amount off the record.
There are many, many circumstances that come about when people are being shady about sex. This women could have a husband/boyfriend that she is trying to now keep from leaving her, for example. Sex is not always a beautiful, intimate moment between a loyal couple. It can get real shady, real quick.
If Iowa or Purdue weren't complete garbage this year, those wins might have gotten Lynch more votes.
Great stats across the board, but the level of competition is suspect, at best. The MAC is not a conference that is going to garner that kind of attention. And losing to Bowling Green didn't help, even though I would think most ballots had already been sent in by that point.
I just wonder if he will give the Heisman back when someone asks the obvious question of how he was paying for his high-powered lawyer who had all the talking points ready and was on TV the day after information about the idle case got brought to the media.
