Trouble getting up?

Up until last week I had no problem getting off the couch or from my bed by using my abdominal muscles. This week I have found myself needing to roll over to get up on my side or asking DH to pull my arms. I'm starting to feel like a "real" pregnant lady now. Anyone else there yet?

  • I'm there and have been for a few weeks. I'm sure we'll all get to that point
  • Loading the player...
  • I've been there, especially if I've been reclining.  Welcome to pregnant lady problems!

  • I've completely given up on shoes that have to be tied, and emptying the bottom rack of the dishwasher :-S
  • YES!! It's super hard when I try to use my tummy muscles AND it looks so strange, like the baby is going to come through my belly button!!
  • Yes.  I thought the traditional pregnant lady "getting off the couch" move was exaggerated on TV, but nope, I'm finding that it's not.  I can't even sit down on the toilet right anymore, I slightly bend my legs and just kind of fall backwards until my butt hits the seat.

  • I feel like I turned into a beached whale overnight. I somehow flop out of bed or roll off the couch to get up and snicker at what a fool I must look like.

  • Along with what everyone else is saying, getting laundry out of the dryer is almost impossible for me now. I've never felt so useless around the house.

    This is me, every time.

  • Been there for a while. Mostly when getting out of bed or up off the floor. Haha
  • I play on the floor with my daughter and have to get on all fours in order to get up. It's especially flattering during story time at the library. I'm also almost at he point where I have to actually get up out of bed in order to reposition myself. Simply rolling over is quickly becoming impossible.

  • Yep, I feel like a turtle on my back.  Today I kind of rolled forward to get off the couch, lost balance, tipped forward and hit my head on the corner of the coffee table!

Yep! This is me too. I then immediately think, o how attractive that I'm grunting every time I have to bend down.

All of the above!!! Plus when I do bend down for something, I get to retaste a little of what I ate last. :-S

Ya...ummmm, wiping gets really funky later on in the third tri...

  • I keep grunting/groaning at odd times like any time I move and half the time DH thinks I'm pissed about something lol And also, I saw someone mentioned wiping ... This is starting to get difficult. I've always thought it was SO WEIRD that DH stands up to wipe (sorry tmi lol) but now I pretty much have to. Glorious, glamorous pregnancy.
  • Not to mention how awesome it is to try and pee in the damn cup at every OB appt. That crap gets interesting

Yes...at my appointment on Monday, I really had to guess with the pee cup
  • I'm there also !! But my problem comes with getting off the bed. :-??
  • I was laying on the floor on Thanksgiving and could not get up lol

The trick at this point is to hold the cup all the way against you and then pee. I balance one hand on the handicap bar to hold myself up and hold the cup with my other. (There's no way I can sit knowing how many women are peeing all over that seat all day.)

  • Yep! I totally have to roll out of bed all the time, it gets annoying when I have to pee every hour during the night. Oh well, the joys of pregnancy!
  • All of the above.  Glad I'm not alone.

  • DH has to give me a hand or a push to get off the couch. Getting out of bed feels like a poorly choreographed clumsy dance routine. Scoot the butt, move one leg, wiggle the hips, move other leg, then first leg again, finally roll onto side, grab a hold of bed to hoist self farther to edge, push off, and finally dash to bathroom before peeing myself.
