Anyone feeling a little blue?

It's been kind of a bad day. I just feel so extra sensitive, and coupled with the fact that my husband is very insensitive sometimes, it has really put a damper on things. Being a PGAL member, it also makes me super anxious when I feel sad because I should be happy and I don't want any of my stress to affect the baby.

What does everyone else do to cheer up if you have a bad day? (Aside from eat, I have already eaten a food truck today).

Re: Anyone feeling a little blue?

  • Sorry you are feeling down.  A bubble bath and reading a good book usually takes my mind off of reality and by the time my toes are wrinkled my mood has changed.  Hope you feel better soon!

  • I get miserable all the time and/or think that everyone hates me (it's not paranoia, it's only since I got pregnant)...

I usually make Hus console me, or make about a million checklists/do planning, or spend hours looking at glorious houses I can't afford, or read a book... basically anything to occupy my mind.  :)
  • I am sorry you are feeling bad too. I am feeling a little bit of that myself. I find diving into a project in a hobby I like helps...for me, it's knitting.
Driving around with loud music I love also makes me feel better.
I hope you find something to lift your spirit a bit. Hugs!

  • Sometimes I just take a nap. I noticed that when I'm tired I get sad easier. But I know how you feel. I hope you feel better soon.
  • So sorry you are down :( I get that way sometimes. I second the bath idea, and I usually play on Pinterest while I soak. Sending hugs!

  • What a great bunch, thank you! I am planning on getting  little exercise tomorrow, as I've backed off the last two weeks when I had some spotting. But I think it's time I get a little activity to boost my mood. Off to a bubble bath now- thanks and hugs to all! :)
  • I'm sorry you're feeling like this! I too sometimes struggle with this, and my PGAL brain doesn't help either at times. I find sometimes just cuddling up with a good book, and a nice mug of tea helps. A nice bubble bath sounds like a great plan. Also tonight I went for a drive looking at Christmas lights, it did wonders to improve my mood.
I find that during pregnancy hormones really work their chaos on my emotions, and eating as well as possible (I do have some phenomenal sweet cravings!) really helps me feel better, and keeping up with enough vitamin D if you live in a northern area. Good luck and Big Hugs!
  • I had a weepy day because it's was icy and grey and cold today and I have seasonal affected disorder, plus my husband got mad that I skipped lunch (we have no food..) and was angry I didn't call someone to take me to get food (I can't drive.) so I spent the greater part of the day crying because he was mad and crying because I am a giant burden on our families because I'm always calling because I need a ride here or there. Everyone said I shouldn't feel that way, and I should have called and ate lunch with them. Which made me cry more because of their generosity.

I draw when I'm upset. I put on music to match my mood and I just draw how I feel. Today, I drew a girl with a "spirit girl" of ice protruding from her heart and kissing her, turning her lips to ice while she cried. Maybe it sounds sad, and I called it "the cold kiss of winter" because that's what it feels like today. I felt much better when I was done.

  • I shop....needless to say I have spent WAY too much on Christmas lol. I also exercise/walk. Go visit with one of my friends. If I take a warm bath I tend to cry more lol. Good luck
