I couldn't find our ipod touch since yesterday, and it's been bugging me like crazy. I'm sort of one of those people who fixates on something until I resolve it. So of course, when DS went down for a nap I started my search and rescue mission. They have this nifty little device on the icloud that will send a sound to your ipod to help you find it. So naturally, I set it off. And where was the ipod? In DS' room. So I can hear it pinging in his room and I can see on the monitor that he hasn't stirred yet, so I try to go ninja style in there and get it out quickly. Nope, I woke him up. And he woke up crying, which tells me he is still tired. Kudos, Mom.

Oh no! I would totally do that too. I'm the same way - I can't give something up until I've solved the problem!

Our dog can be barking her head off in the living room, not even 10 steps away from DD's bedroom door, and she won't wake up. But if I open her door to check on her, the quiet "click" is enough to wake her up. How do they know??

same here. Dd also knows the moment I get comfortable in bed and starts to cry
