Traveling with CDs

I haven't been on or active in a while - have me back?

Soooo we're headed out of town Sat.  I'm not too worried about actually traveling with our diapers, but if you have tips, let me know!

My question is what to do with the dirties when we leave.  I plan on doing laundry Friday night after LO goes to bed but there will still be 3 or 4 dirty diapers by the time we leave.  We're gone until Wed...do I just leave them in the wetbag?

Re: Traveling with CDs

  • Nooooo! Not sposies!

Seriously though, I don't have any.  Maybe I'll just put on a big overnight diaper in the morning Sat before we leave and do the laundry then.  That way, she can just wear big diap on the plane? We leave at 7am for the airport though....but if you think a rinse would do, maybe I can just manage that.  She usually doesn't poop overnight so it should be ok.

  • I left a few dirty ones at home for 4 days and had no problems
  • I usually only wash every three to four days because I have so many. I'm sure they will be fine. I roll mine up and snap them together then put them in the wet bag. That will keep in any stink, and they should be just fine.

  • They should be totally fine, but can you do laundry where you're going? I've stayed with family, brought my own detergent, and done diapers there... makes traveling less stinky and then you don't have to do laundry first thing when you get home.

  • With newborns you can get away with leaving them, but make sure they have air circulation - not in a closed space. I always get stink issues with travel because they aren't in an open pail.
  • I ended up doing just a quick spin/rinse and then hanging them right before we left so hopefully they won't be too stinky!

Too bad I packed both wetbags in our checked bag though.  Luckily the airport had those baggies for your liquids so I used those.  Not the most environmentally friendly, but it happens!
  • I usually bring the dirty ones with me.  I end up having a few dirty ones anyway during the trip, so who cares?
