So, I believe tonight is the 7th night of sleep training and we officially had a no cry put down for bed!
I know this isn't going to happen every night but I'll take what I can get. I heard E talking to herself for about 3 mins and then, silence! Checked the monitor and she is all snuggled up and sound asleep
Re: Victory! (Sleep Training)
(I wanted to put a sarcastic "psychologically damaging" comment here, but then I thought... too soon, too soon.)
@NDarya, don't give up! I don't know if it will help, but maybe changing up the time your LO is going to bed might make a difference? Even 10 minutes makes a huge difference sometimes in our house. S usually goes to bed around 6:30, but depending on naps, activity throughout the day etc etc, that can vary by up to an hour in either direction. If she's too tired when we put her to sleep she cries longer and harder.
@mommatotwo2, typically when someone says sleep training, they usually mean ferber or CIO. it's basically a way to help babies self sooth so they can put themselves to sleep easier
Every night around 6:45 I nurse LO, let her have some naked time, bathe her, lotion her up, put her in pjs, read her a story, say prayers, then put her in her crib.
After her bath when I bring her into her room I start a lullaby cd (which some people say not to do but I do). I also have a projector that shows stars on the ceiling above her crib.
She does cry in her crib but its getting less and less. The longest she cried in one stretch was 30 mins which was the first night. It has gotten better. It's really hard to hear LO cry but last night she fell asleep at about 7:15pm. She woke up at 3am, I changed her and nursed her and put her back down. She was awake but didn't cry. She slept until 8:30am!
It's tough but if you have tried everything else and nothing is working I'd recommend it! I don't check on her in intervals, I more so listen to the severity of the crying. I've only had to go in 3 times I think.
