For those girls who know what they're having, what was the heart rate at your last appointment? I'm curious because I've heard that old wives tale about how a heart rate below 150 is supposed to be a boy, and above is supposed to be a girl. My son was always 150 and below, so it turned out to be true for him. At my appointment today, the heart rate of this little one was 129! Just curious to see if there is any correlation to the heart rate and the sex in our small test group :-).

I believe mine was 150. Having a girl.
The appointment before it was 151.

Mine was 172 at our first appointment, 181 at the NT scan, and 165 at our ultrasound on Thursday.

Mine have all have heart rates in the 160s. Boy, boy, and now another boy!

Mine has been between 140-150 so I thought or sure that baby is a boy.........but I was wrong.

We don't know what we are having but my son's was always high, above 150.....so I guess not true for us. This one is always high too. It'll be fun to see if it's true this time!

I just had an elective ultrasound at 15w5d. The heart rate was 151, and we're having a boy. At my 9 week ultrasound, the heart rate was 166 so it did go down but you'd think I was having a girl based on that if you went on my first trimester. With that being said, it's just an old wives tale. My co-worker was confused and thought the old wives tale was that a boy would have a higher heart rate and a girl would have a lower heart rate. Her son was always higher and her baby girl that was just born was always lower

So what I understood is that all babies have high heart rates in the first tri, but the heart rate levels out in the 2nd trimester to its "normal" level.

Mine was 179 at my 8 week appt.

190 at 9 weeks(!), 170 at 15w, 160 at 16w - it's a girl so true for us. DS was always in the 140s/150s

My first 2 pregnancies heart rate was 140-170 varied for each one with each ultrasound..both were boys... with the twins at 5 wks 5 days their heart rates were 99/98 then 6 wks 5days 128/128 then 8 wks 5 days 162/164 10 wks 5 days 148/149 then 12 wld 5 days they were 152/154... these lil nuggets are playing all the ranges lol I am really curious to see what they are here in a few weeks

Agreed.

Am sad that my Dr just gave me general #s instead of the actual. Hard to compare to what I have for DS that way

A coworker of mine was telling me about this OWT because that's how they predicted the sex back then. She had a girl and a boy and both heart rates were within the correct ranges. She said her sister was only accurate 1/3 of the time. We are team green so I have no confirmation for you. The heart rate at week 13 was 162.
