Has anyone used there doppler and still cant find the baby? I am freaking out that I cant find him but we went the day before Thanskgiving and he was doing good. I just wish I could find his heartbeat.

I used my doppler last night and couldn't find him. The doctor found him literally right away earlier in the day at my appointment. I have NEVER been able to find him. I give up on the doppler and don't stress about it.
It takes a lot of patience and a lot of tilting the Doppler back and forth. I've found our baby's HB every time I've looked since about 10 weeks, but sometimes it takes 10 min before I find it.
I'm having the same problem, I was freaking out before Thanksgiving because I was 13 weeks and couldn't find the heartbeat, then went to the Dr and she found it within seconds. I mentioned it to her and she said the at home ones are not nearly as sensitive as the one she has. I tried again this week and I can't find the heartbeat but I did hear what the Dr. said was the sound of baby kicking.
I was just able to find mine at 15 weeks the other night. It took some time and we did have to encourage baby to move around a bit. I was told that my placenta is anterior as well, so we know that we have to find our way around that too.

It's hard for me because I have a tilted uterus but when I do, it's literally at my hair line. Lower than I would expect. Also, it's harder to find at different times. Worst right after dinner when I'm bloated and my belly is gurgling.
Make sure you don't put too much gel on the Doppler. That could make the heartbeat too soft to hear. I lost my gel so I use Vaseline, and I find that if there's too much on the Doppler, I can't hear the heartbeat. When I wipe some off so its not thick, I can hear it nice and loud. I hope this helps!
Use the dobbler much much lower than your instincts tell you. Baby's heartbeat can usually be heard just a bit above your ....pubic hair line. Also move slow and tilt the doppler handle slightly to for searching. Good luck, but I would agree with most...I wouldn't be concerned to not be able to find it on a home doppler.
Love it ! Def place if lower. We were trying higher thinking since I've popped out a little baby was higher. Nope, still below belly button above pubic line ( ours always seems to be in the middle!).
9 and 10 weeks it was harder to find and I would have to drink a ton of water and move around a head of time. But ever since 11 weeks, the moment I put the doppler down, I find it right away. I am now 14w4d. I also know where my baby is located 95% of the time, so that helpsmake it easier. But it is still pretty low. Its at like my hip bone area now in the center left
It takes a lot of practice, make sure you stick at it for at lest 5 minutes each time. Took me ages, sometimes I find it within a few seconds other times takes about 10 mins. I'm 13w 2days and I normally find it about 1-1/12 inches below my tummy button. Goid luck xxx
I've never heard that using too much gel will make it harder to hear, typically for other Dopplers that makes it easier. For example, we use dopplers to check the blood pressure on animals and more gel is definitely better, so I'm assuming it works the same for these dopplers?
