dirty nails

Can anyone tell me how I might be able to clean dirt out from under LO's nails? I file them down as well as I can but can only go so far. I give her a bath a few times a week and I've tried to pick the dirt out from under her nails but I'm just scared of poking her and it's really hard to get it all out.
