Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Feeling helpless (child mentioned)

Hi, I posted earlier when it was discovered I had a missed miscarriage. Well, I'm still waiting, and I feel like I am going nuts. I've had two miscarriages a very long time ago, one a missed miscarriage. When the baby did pass it was very painful and I ended up having a D&C anyway. I am much older and I don't want to take a chance of having one again, for fear of scarring. However, I have only had a light brown spotting and nothing else. I remember the pain, and I have my 12 month old son to care for. What I am asking is has anyone else gone through this? How long did it take for the brown to turn red? I am sorry for rambling, I feel so lost. My doctor is not much help. I'm in tears writing this. Thank you to those who responded to my last post. It meant a lot to me.

  • I'm sorry your doctor is not much help. I had brown spotting with mild cramping for 4 days before it turned bright red, at which time I went to the ER where they did an ultrasound and saw no heartbeat. I had seen a heartbeat 2 weeks prior. The bleeding started getting heavier the next day, so I took Misoprostol and passed the baby naturally that night. The doctor prescribed me some pain pills that helped with the pain. So sorry you're going through this.

  • I'm sorry you are going through this and having to play the waiting game. From the time I started spotting until passing everything was about 4 days. During that time I began cramping stronger each day but the bleeding never got much heavier - all of a sudden my water broke and everything went very quickly from there. I sorta expected the bleeding to increase but it didn't. I hope things go as smoothly as possible for you or your Dr. is able to prescribe Cytotec to help speed things along.
