Crocs as sandals for the beach?

Is this a good idea? DD is 2 years old, and I'm looking for shoes that can get wet with sea water and pool water. WDYT?

    We did fine. If he's somewhere where he'd be doing lots of walking in the water and its rocky/slippery like a lake you will want an actual water shoe. Otherwise crocs work fine.

    Thanks! I used to hate thong sandals when I was a child, they hurt  (LOL at the name), and I'm thinking Crocs might hold up well.
