Everyday after dropping DD off at daycare, I sit in the parking lot and bump or Facebook for 20 or 30 minutes before going to work. It's quiet, peaceful and time that is entirely mine.
This year in particular I am so glad we don't observe Christmas because I am incapable of putting on my plastic face and pretending to be happy. Right now I just accept that I am sad, angry, envious, resentful and a slew of other negative emotions but it won't always be this way.
TTC since 3-08
IVF # 1 Dec 2011 BFP
DD born at 31 weeks 6-24-12
I didn't send out Christmas cards this year because I just didn't feel like it. I've only bought gifts for DS so now I have to rush out and buy everyone else random gifts.
I think my DH over reacts to a lot of things in regards to safety. I'm supposed to go a few states over for training and he is throwing a fit about me traveling by myself. I travel around the state for work in some not so great areas and he tells me to get out of there. Maybe he's overprotective and I guess that's good but seriously, I'm a career woman and he can't stop me.
Also, I just snissed and all I can think about now is how @bayleighpaws sat on a juice box and thought her water broke. It has made me chuckle more than once now.
I have a snow day today! My principal called at 5:50 this morning to tell me.
Sent DD to daycare anyway and planned to do housework and go to school for a bit.
While DH was driving DD to daycare, his construction partner called to say they shouldn't work today. So when DH came home, he and I went out to breakfast and did Christmas shopping!
A good mom would have spent today with her kid, but I shopped instead.
I need to make something for dinner because we are having friends over. I really just want to get Indian food and call it good.
It snowed a lot yesterday and it was so nice to stay inside like a hermit.
@lindseydesigner, go on pinterest and look up balsamic brown sugar glazed pork. You make it in the crock pot and glaze it in the last hour and it is so easy and impressive! It is my go-to weeknight dinner party entree. Have fun tonight!
Thank you! I mean, I have stuff to buy for people and matching family Christmas PJs to make and gifts to wrap and chocolate peppermint bars to eat. I can hang out with my kid any time.
We just bought our Christmas tree last night. We decorated it and I think it is really ugly. I won't tell Dh, though, because we spent a lot of money on one of six trees left at the lot. Blah!

I would have done that, too! A good mom takes advantage of having good care for her child so that she can have a little time for herself/as a couple when the opportunity presents itself! Plus I'm sure you will have lots of time with your DD over the holidays of the next couple of weeks.
