RCS Mommas!

Both of my two prior Cesarean Sections were done at 38wks but I see a lot of posts where you momma's say you have yours planned for one week prior to date, which would be 39 weeks. What state do you live in for those of you with yours planned at 39wks? And we're all of yours at 39wks?

My first c-section was 10/2009 & my repeat was 05/2011. Did they just change to 39wks or has it always been and my OB is just different?

I was induced at 39w (high blood pressure), ended up with cs. I will VERY likely end up with another, and I know that with my blood pressure, they've always used 39.

My first was induced at 38wks to no avail, and my BP was 158/99 so they did a cs. Second was just a rcs. Plus I have GD.

My first was at 36 weeks 1 day. Both the baby and I had complications. I was told that this time it would be at 39 weeks unless there are complications again. I live in FL and from what friends have told me 39 weeks is normal.

My first was at 37 weeks because I was induced and DD wasn't progressing. My RCS will be at 39 weeks (when my OB office does RCS) unless I go into labor first. I live in CT.

My first I lsbored and ended up with a c section. The second was scheduled at 39 w. This rcs will be at 39 weeks as well.

I live in the great state of Georgia and my RCS will be at 39 weeks.

Oh, I forgot the other part: no, my first cs was earlier but it was not planned. It was due to the baby's distress.

My OB said to expect 39 weeks as well.

I have scheduled it yet, but we will schedule for 39 weeks as well. Standard of care in my practice.

I thought I heard about the Board of Obstetrics changing to 39 weeks but I haven't talked to my OB about it yet. I suppose its changed. Oh well, either way I don't mind. I was just wondering though, thank you ladies! Guess its time to look at my RCS options on my calendar lol

My first was an emergency c-section and the baby was full term and I had her in NYC. With this baby, I am having it in NJ, and my new OB told me the c-section will be scheduled at 39 weeks. She told me NJ is strict with that.

My doctor prefers 38 weeks for my care because my clotting disorder means a higher chance of stillbirth. My other friends who had rcs also had them at 38 weeks so maybe it is just the norm for our area.
