I have been sleeping on my left side (like you're supposed to I guess). If I sleep on my right side for too long my arms start falling asleep which is never comfortable. But sleeping in mainly one position is killing my hips. I've been waking up in so much pain I don't remember it being this bad with the other two. I'm sleeping with a pillow between my knees (which I do normally even when I'm not pregnant) and I'm not sure if there's anything else I can do to help. Has anyone else had this issue and found something that helped? I think my midwife would recommend seeing a chiropractor but I haven't seen one since I was a kid and don't know any in the area.
I really don’t have any advice but I just want to say I
TOTALLY feel your pain. My hips are killing me too. But I actually DO go to the
chiropractor and they still hurt. I'm sorry

Wear some wrist guards to bed to help with your hands falling asleep. It's normal, pregnancy carpal tunnell....I wake up with them asleep a lot, but thankfully my hands aren't numb all the time like last time.
The left side is ideal, but it's fine to sleep on your right side to help avoid the hip pain. There is no way I could stick to just one side all night.

Try a longer pillow that you can position from your knees, thighs and under the belly - then roll forward onto it so you aren't resting all your weight on the peak of your hip bone. Should be placing more weight towards the front of your pelvis that way.
I was having the same problem. I have that pregnancy pillow that is between my knees and goes up to my chest. What I found is that I need to have a pillow between my feet as well, (my feet used to touch) and I wake up fine now. I do regular exercise and I still had the hip pain, the only thing that worked was the pillow between my feet.
I have definitely been having this same problem!! This morning when my feet hit the floor, I could hardly walk because the hip pain just from walking was so bad!! I appreciate the suggestions some of you have offered! I will definitely be trying some of these!!! Thank you!!!!
My left hip has been killing me lately! I can't get comfy on my right (same as you, it's my arms/hands) and if I sleep on my back I suffocate. The only thing I find has helped is a pillow between my knees, but it only helps a bit, nothing crazy!
I have the same problem!!! I feel like it's because I can't sleep on my back. The only thing that has helped me is getting up and walking around which ducks because all I want to do is sleep!!!
I'm with you ... and this is the absurd pillow arrangement that finally helped relieve some of it:
Body pillow behind my back, boppy-type pregnancy pillow with one part between my thighs and the other wrapped around/under my bump and finally a regular bed pillow starting at my knees and going down to my ankles. I realized that even though I had a pillow between my knees, my feet were still touching/putting pressure on my hip so that helped a lot. I hope you get some relief!
I'm not a chiro person, but I see a physiotherapist who is helping with my SPD and hip pain. He really is helping keep things aligned better than my last pregnancy, and has given me some exercises to help as well.
Me and my Kiwi, both 38. We struggled with RPL and were blessed with Micah. I'm a full custody stepmom to Ethan!

This. The pillow between my feet changed my life. No more hip pain!
I have to try the pillow between the feet. I use the big wrap around body pillow under my head/between my legs, but I also have a regular body pillow that I position behind me, so that just my butt and hips are lifted (don't know if that makes sense). It causes me to lean into the wrap around pillow a little and relieves some of the pressure on my hips. But not foolproof
I will definitely try some more pillows...I'm worried that MH and I won't fit in the bed (Queen) especially since our 5 year old keeps coming in to snuggle in the middle of the night!
Getting a pregnancy pillow changed my life. I have the full blown one that is a "U" shape. It is a tad overboard and DH hates it, but I love it so much I might continue using it after LO born!! No pain anymore, and I'm sleeping very comfortable so far still...
What brand is it @alexawinston? I was looking around online and it's overwhelming! Plus they're all expensive and this is our last so if I'm going to spend $50 on a pillow I'll only use for 3 months I want it to be AMAZING, lol.
@BrideNamedMeg. I believe mine is the Leachco Back N Belly. I got it off amazon.com. They defenetly are pricey, mine was around 60 dollars but I got it like week 10 of this pregnancy so it was well worth the money for me. Its a big one, so a queen sized bed gets a little tight with it. We are lucky to have a king, but have used it in a queen, it's do-able, but your poor DH might wine a bit, haha.
