Pregnant after IF

Delivery Day is ....

C-section is December 26th at 7:30am!!! which will put me at 35w4d. We've been going back and forth with dates, we initally had new years day in mind but OB couldn't do that day. I'm so flippin excited!!!!!!! I have exactly one week, unless my little princess decides she wants to come before (depending on NSTs).

I am trying to stay humble, but how couldn't I be excited! One week and ill be cut open!

IF brain is getting to me now !!!
What if she doesn't cry?
What if she isn't okay?
What if her vsd is bigger than we suspect?
What if she doesn't latch on to BF?
Will she have Nicu time?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Someone please calm me down, and 2IF ladies please prep me for delivery, I'm clueless!!
TTC Since 112010 Naturally. Diagnose:PCOS(ME) + Low Motility(HIM). Started IVF+ICSI Cycle 12312. ER 27 & ET 210 two embies transferred. *BFN 1ST IVF CYCLE.* **Getting as healthy as possible and will try IVFICSI#2 again hopefully in April.** -- HAVE FAITH; LET GO & LET GOD --

Awww! That's so exciting!! Such a perfect Christmas gift! Don't worry -- trust that everything will be FINE. She will be perfect and when you see her sweet face, all of your worries will melt away. I couldn't get over what a miracle my daughter was... going from basically nothing to a real human in less than a year because I GREW her! It's incredible. I'm so happy for you. Breastfeeding is just an adjustment, even if she doesn't latch right away. You'll find whatever works for the two of you. Just think, only one more week until your life will change in the most amazing way!

  • Yay, that is so exciting! I know it's hard not to, but try not to stress too much about what's to come. Just let it roll out however it does, and you will do great! Don't get discouraged if she doesn't latch on right away; it's usually something that can be figured out.

I didn't have a c-section with DS, but if I knew I was having one with this LO, I think I would actually feel a bit more relaxed in many ways. With vaginal delivery, there are so many variables and different ways it can go down. More to think about! With c-section, I would imagine it will be more predictable. So hopefully, in a way, it will be less to worry about? That's how I would look at it!

    Me: 42. DH: 46.

    1st Pregnancy: MC, 11/19/00.

    2nd Pregnancy: DS born 04/10/06.

Tried Letrozole January 2013-July 2013 (including 2 IUIs), all BFN.  After 2 1/2 years of trying for child #2, decided to "give up" after July cycle, based on AMA.

August 16, 2013:  BFP our first month of "not trying!"  Still in shock.  Beta #1 (14dpo): 183.  Beta #2 (17dpo):  611.  Ultrasound 8/30/13: baby measured 6 weeks, 1 day, heart rate of 118 bpm!

  • I know I'm fairly new to the PAIF board but I wanted to let you know that i was in almost the same boat as you when my DD was born. My DD was born at 35 weeks 6 days via c section after my water broke early and I spent nearly a week in the hospital too. I was so freaked out by the time she came because of everyone trying to prepare me for the worst case scenarios but everything worked out just fine. :) The c section was not bad (in fact I will probably have a repeat this time around) but most importantly DD was perfect. She needed a little oxygen at first and spent one night hooked up to monitors going back and forth from my room to breast feed to the special care nursery (which I'm sure was a precaution). She breast fed like a champ and was released with me three days later. My only advice for you is stay on top of your pain meds after the c section and meet with the lactation consultant/start pumping as soon as you can after she is born. I'm praying for you! Try and hang in there. My DD was the best birthday present ever and your DD will be the best Christmas gift you will ever get. :)
