Anyone else leaking colostrum yet?

I know it's "normal," I just need to know I'm not alone!

I think it's time to go buy nursing pads (I'm used to being able to wear a bra for longer than a day before it's dirty) but I feel a little foolish at just 26 weeks and change. Anyone else? Anyone? Bueller?

I'm a STM. I never leaked with my first pregnancy but i was leaking a tiny but in my 2nd tri this time around. Now it seems to have ended so I don't know what that was all about.

(Btw-I subscribe and saved on nursing pads from amazon.)

I am too. I've been doing something that I think was originally @lvlichelle's idea and cutting the rounded tips off of panty liners and using those in my bra. I'm not leaking so much that I need a full breast pad, just enough that I don't like to get my bra gross.

Also, I am only leaking out of my left breast. WTF. As this is obviously not "call the midwife!" territory, can anyone reassure me that this doesn't mean only my left breast works? I promise I'll be good and ask her at my next visit. ;-)

Uhh first @pepperedmoth thank you for posting this! Second, FTM here and had white gunky stuff (booger like) come out. Is this colostrum? I have no idea what to expect!

Yes, this is me too. Left breast only. Very strange, but at least you're not alone!

I'm leaking out of only my left breast too. Asked the dr at my last appt and she said it was fine and will most likely be completely unrelated to breast feeding. I was afraid I would be lopsided or something and she reassured me I should be fine, even though breast feeding comes with its own challenges.

I started producing around 18 weeks (21 weeks with DS). I wasn't leaking, but squeezing my nips would do the trick. I've been actually leaking since about 24 weeks (30 with DS) without applying pressure.

I was. I haven't noticed it a while though and when I push on my boobs nothing comes out. But stuff WAS coming out. Definitely didn't happen this early the first time around.

Yep, the past 6-7 weeks for me! Thank god it hasn't been bad enough to leak through my bras.

Yikes. Mine is clear, and dries sort of white and crumbly. It's not mucousy at all. But I don't know what the range of normal is!

It tickles me that we're all leaking out of the LEFT. It's like it's the mystical breast or something.

Yep, I can hand express quite a lot at this point. When I was a FTM I could squeeze a teeny bit out. This time is crazy!

I wonder if the left boob thing is related to right-handed-ness? Like maybe being a righty means you move that arm (and boob) more, so leak from that side less…
Not sure if that makes sense.

I've been leaking for a while. Since about 16 weeks.

Maybe this was dried up colostrum mixed with some fresh leakage?

Ps.... I read this article the other day about men who LIKE the taste of this and breast milk. No lie. Thoughts on that?!

I asked my hubs. He seemed grossed out about it. But i could bet money that he'll at least taste it.

Yes - but only in the bath or shower so far. The hot water seems to make it happen.

The first time it happened I didn't really expect it, and was so weirded out. I know our bodies are no longer our own, but that was in that moment where I really felt the impact of this fact in a totally different way.

Mine haven't started leaking yet, but I have noticed that they are getting sore again. And the left is more sore than the right.

Way cheaper than nursing pads, which are too thick right now anyways.

At a secret santa with my gfs 2 weeks ago, I mentioned that my boobs have been leaking for a while. One of my girlfriends, who was 35.5 weeks pregnant at the time, freaked out -- her boobs hadn't produced anything yet. Well, she just went into labor and had her baby two days ago, at 37w1d, and her breastfeeding has already been going GREAT! So I really don't believe that a lack of early leakage is a sure sign of BF problems

No leaking but I can get colostrum pretty easily when squeezing. It is pretty remarkable, but no leaking yet.

Mine have leaked twice in the hot shower. Once at 23 weeks and once at 28 weeks. Just a drop. At 23 weeks it was post ST the night before. At 28 we were both fooling around in the shower. I am going to say that combo of ST and hot water from the shower did it.

Even more weird, was that it's only ever the one boob.
