TWW temp and symptom watch

hi all!  and happy thursday!  i'm about at the end of week 1 of the tww (6.5 days now; we insemmed just past midnight).  i have been, of course, symptom watching.  can you tell me what you think???  i'm forever grateful.

3 dpo had low back pain start (could be unrelated though)
4/5 dpo had a mild dizzy spell that passed fairly quickly
5 dpo had low-down cramps that lasted less than an hour

i had stopped temping for a few days but started again on 3 dpo:
3 dpo 97.2
4 dpo 97.7
5 dpo 97.2
6 dpo 97.0
7 (today) dpo 97.0

has anyone else had some experience temping and being able to "detect" implantation with a one-day temp drop and then pregnancy with a steady temp rise?  i was really excited when i was cramping yesterday because i never get period cramps this early before AF... so i was sure it was implantation cramping.  but no temp drop this morning.  any thoughts or insights?  you rock!

#1 early december 2013: 1 vial ICI/IVI at 8 hours past +OPK, likely a chemical loss at 9dpo
#2 late december 2013: 1 vial IUI, timing was way off, BFN
#3 took a month off and trying again mid-february... would love TWW buddies!

Re: TWW temp and symptom watch

  • I went from the low 97's post-ov to 98.1 as soon as I implanted, and it's stayed between 98.1 and 98.7 since then.
    Current pregnancy -
First BFP on 1/4/22.  Due date 9/13/22.

Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.

  • To be completely honest its really hard to tell that early - though I would watch and analyze signs like crazy each TWW.  With all three of my BFP's I had a spike in temperature after implantation which happened after 5 dpo. For this last pregnancy I had fairly high temps, thought I might be prego, but started spotting heavily (thought it was my period) for a few days. Even planned the next cycle and was temping. My temps skyrocketed so I took a test at 14 or 15dpo and it was positive, I was shocked.  My temps went for approx 98.00 to 98.6, 98.7, 98.8.  So really high temps (for me). But not everyone sees those kind of spikes. I just knew that I've never had above say 98.3 or 98.4 for more than a day and not been pregnant ;-)

Hope that helps - I hope this is you BFP!!
  • Ditto was everyone else has said. It's really hard to not look into every little symptom. We have not had a successful IUI yet but every time there are symptoms that pop up that I am sure means we are pregnant. Hang in there!

  • I didn't even think about taking my temp to see about implantation! Sigh. We are only 3dpiui and was just telling the DW that I wish there was something I could do (besides analyze every symptom b/c that has not worked in the past). Think I will have to do the temp measuring process

  • The only way I could tell an implantation dip was a few days after the dip, and you look at the whole cycle. The biggest indicator before my BFP was that the temps never lowered back to the low 98's before AF.

  • So we started measuring temp...which could be too late as I do not have any prior temps to consider.

Question:  did you always do it first thing in the morning?

I have done the first thing in the morning, but then also measured two more times during the day (IDK why, just trying to feel like I'm doing something).  Slight raise in the am measurement.  But definitely BIG raise for day time temps (10:30 am temp and approx 3pm temp...and both went up by minimum of 1.0)

  • you should definitely temp first thing in the morning and at the same exact time every day. you want to try not to move too much either. don't stress yourself out too much if you have to feel around for the thermometer for a while. I set an alarm on my phone for the same time every morning and keep the thermometer right next to my phone. you can move and pee and whatnot afterwards. you'll want to chart for several cycles to look for patterns.
