Sorry @britvahok and @PeopleKnowMe, I love musical theatre, especially live performances, and strawberries are one if my favorite fruits.
Granted that I am a feeling very bitter and angry at present but I absolutely hate when people brag about how fertile they are or about their husband's 'super swimmers.' Maybe if virility was not linked to sperm count, men could be more forthright and less ashamed of their fertility issues.

If I could afford it I would get a tummy tuck without any regrets. I've even told SO the only way I'll have 3 kids is if I can have a tummy tuck afterwards.
I don't think there should be shame in any cosmetic surgery. I am planning on increasing my work hours once Kate starts kindergarten, and giving myself the next few years to eat healthy and exercise. If I am not happy with my thighs, tummy and boobs by then, my gift to myself will be liposuction, tummy tuck and breast lift. I would do it now but I feel guilty spending the money on it when I hardly work, and our extra income is limited.
I think Dr. Oz is an alarmist hack. I know there is a grain of truth to his headlines, but they only seem to invoke paranoia about everything in you and around you. Yesterday his talk show headline was something like "The Dangerous Fire Retardants Lurking in your Home!" Like there were little fire retardants with black masks on hiding in your closet with a baseball bat, just waiting for you to unwittingly open the door so they could bash you over the head and spread their chemicals all over you. If I followed his advice, I would be breathing through a gas mask and eating nothing but filtered water and fiber.
In response to @BatDaughter4Eva 's first UO about Phil Robertson from Duck Dynasty.
(Keep in mind I haven't read the article, just what my husband told me.)
I think A&E was wrong to do what they did. Part of the reason the show is popular is because of the "traditional" views of the family. I disagree with Phil's comparison of gays to terrorists and drunks and probably a lot of what he said (again, I didn't read it).
But, I do think he's entitled to his views.I don't think he's the type of person who would ever be mean to a gay person or treat them badly in any way so I think he's a poor target for all this "he's a gay hater."
Honestly, the whole thing doesn't bother me. He has his opinion, and people only care because he's on tv. It's like the whole chickfila thing. For about a week people were pissed, and then life went on. I fully support the LGBT community, but I'm not fired up because some guy on tv isn't on their side. That's all I meant.
I agree cedenton. It's like being shocked at pastors saying they disagree with homosexuality.
To add to it I don't think having a different opinion equals hate. Of course some people who disagree with homosexuality for example are hateful but not everyone. I know many Christians who don't agree with homosexuality the same they don't agree with premarital sex but that doesn't mean they are hateful. It's their belief and they would never treat a gay person badly for their differences. It bothers me. We can have different views without it being wrapped in hate. Maybe more flame worthy...

Agree 100%. He's a self proclaimed "bible thumper". He was also being interviewed, so I'm sure the interviewer was asking the "right" questions to get the controversial answer he wanted.

Well said. I haven't read what the Duck Dynasty guy said, but there are absolutely Christians who don't agree with homosexuality (because they believe what the Bible says about it), but aren't hateful toward gay people. Like me. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone...I am far from being without sin. The hateful ones just get more attention and make all of us look bad.
I didn't know that homosexuality was something to agree with. It always had and always will be a part of life..
I think we meant "condoning" it when we said "agreeing with." At least that was how I meant it. But you are right that that was not the best choice of words.
I'm not going to debate semantics but the 'condone" also sounds judgmental to me.
Condone is a word I would use for anything the Bible considers a sin. I wouldn't condone lying, greed, selfishness, adultery, etc, either. Maybe it does sound judgmental, but it isn't reserved just for homosexuality in my vocab.
I am in favor of allowing same-sex marriage, btw. So I am probably despised by both sides of this debate.
You can't disagree with homosexuality. It's not an opinion. You also can't "not condone" homosexuality. That's the same as saying you don't agree with people being female, or short, or of another race. The fact that they are possibly different from you and not of the dominant norm does not make their existence something you get to weigh in on.
And @austenfan919, I'm not trying to pick on you specifically. I applaud that you support same-sex marriage. That's awesome. But you gotta check your language of "support" when you equate homosexuality with sin.
According to the Bible, sins are not only acts that hurt other people. They may also be things that go against what God intended for His creation. I know not everyone agrees with that, but that's the Biblical perspective. God never spoke against being female, short or of different races, but he did judge homosexual acts.
That being said, that's not the starting place or the capstone of Christianity, salvation or anything else. It's an issue that's ultimately between God & an individual person.
I'm tired of everyone saying the Duck Dynasty thing is a free speech issue. A&E is a private place of business and they have an image to uphold. If antigay speech is not part of that image, they have every right to fire or suspend anyone doing it. It's true that they probably should have known but that's beside the point. No one's rights have been taken. He can say whatever he wants and be free of legal repercussions, sure, but that doesn't protect his relationship with his employer. In fact, their response to bigotry is just as protected.
My real UO is I don't think flight attendants are so bad. They have a difficult job and have to deal with countless assholes. I would assume most confrontations between flight attendants and passengers are the passengers' faults.
Lying, greed and adultery are choices that hurt other people. How can you equate homosexuality with those acts?
One more reply and I am done...I don't personally decide what is a sin. I believe what the Bible says about it. I don't know why it speaks against homosexuality, and this is one area that I struggle to believe the Bible, TBH. I am not personally offended or harmed by someone else's choice in this area.
I don't know why it is counted as a sin, and if tomorrow someone found evidence that our Bibles had been mistranslated and it really said homosexuality was NOT a sin, I would be fine with that. I would be glad actually because then maybe the church could stop focusing so much on this issue that the heart of Christianity (and the fact that we are ALL sinners in need of salvation) is getting lost (like @paisleyruth said).
Anyway, my main point was that people can agree with Duck Dynasty's guys views on homosexuality without being hateful. I have my opinion on it, but I would not treat a gay person any differently than anyone else. I had a gay boss in college, and I really enjoyed working with him.

@peopleknowme I can't even comprehend not liking strawberries. I look forward to May every year just to get juicy fress berries.
AE pretty much screwed themselves. Regardless of the opinions related to what Phil said, it was their #1 show and the entire cast will not continue without him. Another network will scoop them up and continue to make millions.
My UO - I get so annoyed with companies making these huge statements about dropping their sponsorship for people (Athletes, movie stars etc). I mean I buy products because I like them not becuase of who endorses them. I think I would only be truly putoff by a company sponsorship if they were backing someone that did inhumane acts. I live in a small community, and unfortunately I run into racist, bigots and just unpleasant small minded people all of the time. I choose not to stoop to their level. Everyone in America has the right to the Freedom of Speech and whether or not I agree with you, I am not going to judge you or live my life any different.
I guess my UO would be that though I don't agree with Phil's statement. I do believe that they set him up for this. You ask a Christian who lives in the south, has for all of if not most of his life his opinion on gay people. The thing is they didn't have to publish it for everyone to see.
