Re: Disney regulars, please come in!
How fun! You all are going to have such a great time. It's been a few years since we've been too but I think if you stay at a Disney hotel you have to book through the Disney website. I could be wrong (like I said, it's been a while) but if I remember correctly, the only hotels on the Disney property that can be booked through any other website other than the Disney site are the Swan and Dolphin.
Sorry, I guess I wasn't too much help, was I-lol?!
Oh how much fun Mel! Sophia is going to love meeting Mickey and gang! This website (https://www.allears.net) offers lots of advice / tips for navigating Disney. I totally recommend the All Star / Sports, etc hotels... they are economical, clean, and offer free transportation to the parks / Disney properties.
I believe Feb. Magic Kingdom offers a special Princes & Pirates, in which the park is open at night (only to special ticket holders - have to buy seperate from reg tix) from 7pm to close (12am maybe). Since they only sell a limited amount tix., the rides have NO lines, and they have a special parade. Kids usually go dressed up as princesses/pirates. SIL went last yr, and she said niece loved it!
Also, a character meal is a must! The Contemporary offers a good breakfast at Chef Mickey's and all the characters come out dressed as chefs. And the Cyrstal Palace at Magic Kingdom has meals w/ the Winnie the Pooh characters.
Hope you guys have a blast!

I usually book through Disney directly on the phone and I ask for Florida discounts and I compare their prices with travelocity, Expedia or Hotel.com. I have gotten great deals for their Deluxe hotels in Travelocity. Just shop around. Have fun!
Are you AAA members?? If so that is the best deal you are going to get on passes. I'd also recommend the boards on disboards.com for all info you want related to disney. It's a GREAT site. There are a couple of deals for around February depending on how long you plan on staying.
And YAY for going you are going to have so much fun!
Hey! How funny we just got back from there yesterday! Every year we get the 3 day passes because they come out a lot cheaper than if you just buy 1 ticket...I'm not sure if they have the 4 day passes still (this year we got 4day passes for $130 which was awesome)...I don't know of any bargain website
Since you have kids I'm sure the Disney hotels will be cooler for them but we just stayed at the Lake Buena Vista Palace hotel, which we had never heard of, and it was AWESOME! They even have breakfast with the characters there and it's literally across the street from Downtown Disney!
