How many naps?

I was wondering how many naps your LO is taking now?

My DD is currently taking 2 naps per day. After getting up at 7am, she takes a morning nap for an hour around 10-11am, then another nap in the afternoon around 3-5pm. She goes to bed at 9pm. When she gets cranky or give me blank stares, I know she's tired and will put her down. When do they transition to one nap per day?

Re: How many naps?

  • We are also still at 2 naps a day.
    10-11ish and then 2-3:30ish
sleeps from 7:30pm to 7:30am at night

I don't plan to transition to one nap for a few months

  • daycare has him at 1 nap a day about 12 or 12:30.  on the weekends sometimes he'll do one and sometimes 2. I prefer 2 :)

  • Two. I don't see her only needing 1 for a while.

  • we are at 2 also, she wakes at 6:45 and then naps around 9ish and then again around 1 or 2 and goes to bed at 7:30
  • K fluctuates. Most days, it is 2 naps. Some days, she only need one. I am not forcing it. I go by her cues.

  • DD primarily does one, but occasionally will take two.  She takes it around 9:30-12:30 usually.  Yesterday it was 9:15 - 1:30....over 4 hours!  If she's going to go down to just one, I'd like it to be later.  She hasn't been sleeping the greatest at night either.

Usually 1 nap in his crib for about an hour before lunch and 1 extra long nursing session before dinner where he kind of dozes in and out. He typically sleeps 8pm - 8am.

  • Most days 2; 1 long and 1 short. Sometimes on the weekends this gets messed up if we are out and about. She doesn't sleep in the car :(

  • N usually has 2 naps when at grandma's house.
Up at 7ish, nap at 11, nap at 3 or 4, bed at 9. (Naps are usually an hour to an hour and a half at grandma's)

At home, up by 7, nap anywhere between noon and 4pm. (Nap at home is usually 2-3 hours, since its just one nap)

I'd like him to take 2 at home, but I kind of expected only 1. DD wasn't a napper, like ever. She pretty much only napped once or twice a week from 6 months on. I was one tired mommy.
  • its getting to the point where it depends on the day.  most days he wakes at 645 and is ready for a nap by 930-10.  If I put him down he will sleep 2 hours, getting up around noontime for lunch.  often is he ready for a nap again around 230 but will rarely actually take one leading to a monster baby at bedtime.  I think its time to start pushing the AM nap later, but I don't think he could last til after lunch and don't want to put him down shortly before because id think he would be hungry.  we're definitely getting to the point though that were about ready to transition to one I think.

Two at home and at ILs, but only 1 at DC in the toddler room. But then he is always taking a short nap when we get there at night to pick him up.
