Y'all remember the cousin I was throwing the shower for?  Well, she had Bentley today.  He was 7 pounds 5 oz and 19.75 inches long.  I thought all was well, but just learned that he is having seizures and is turning blue, I assume from oxygen loss.

This would be tough on any mom, but my cousin is only 19 and doesn't handle stressful situations well as it is.  If you could be sending her some vibes and prayers, I will love you forever.  Will keep you updated.

    I don't know the significance of this, but they noted when he was born that he only had 2 cord vessels instead of 3.  I'm afraid to google that- can anybody enlighten me?

    Ignore me.  Got my answer.

    Oh no!  So very sorry to hear that baby is having a hard time.  I will pray that they can get him stabilized very soon.  Hugs to your cousin.  I love his name!  I once had a dog named Bentley.

    Those of you who aren't in the FB group didn't get the update last night.  I can't post on mobile because it signs me in to my old TK name for some reason.  

    Last night's update was that he hadn't had any more seizures and was breathing on his own.  He's still in the NICU obviously, but is sleeping great and hadn't had any issues.

    Abbie was able to see Bentley for the first time since he was 4 hours old this morning at 9:00.  He had his first bottle and did really well with it.  She said "things are looking up," but that's as much as I've gotten.  She's not asking many questions, so nobody is really getting any answers.  She'll see him again at 11:30 Central.  I'm hoping we'll know what caused the initial seizures soon.
