First off I will say that my place of business is my family's construction company. So in the office daily is my uncle, SIL, cousin, dad, sister (part-time), grandma (part-time) and me. My family is Catholic, huge, and very ornery, we like to mess with each other, but in all in good fun. One of my favorite things to do is scare the crap out of people when they come out of the bathroom. They never expect it, they just pee'd so you don't have to worry about that, and their faces are hilarious. I also do this to my husband at home:) Oh and I am not a complete monster the one person in the office with heart issues I NEVER scare. So anyway I bought myself a Christmas present last week to add to my favorite past time and IT MAKES ME SOOOOO HAPPY!!

My first victim was my uncle and I laughed so hard I almost pee'd myself. Anybody else have fun scaring your family stories?

  • Scaring people is probably the main reason why Halloween is DH's favorite holiday every.  Seriously I think we have more Halloween decorations than all other holidays combined, including all our christmas stuff.

He always goes big on the decorations outside the house, and sets up a bit of a haunted house atmosphere inside where I am handing out candy.  He has lots of bodies lying around the yard and he will switch where he is throughout the night.  He will also invite a bunch of our friends over to help out - one to operate the flying ghost that brushes your head as you walk up the path, and one to operate the voice activated life-sized figure that he has standing by the door (its actually a christmas bear that he dresses up in a really scary costume.  It moves it head from side to side and raises its arms when you talk into the microphone)  He always scares the teenagers coming for candy or the parents of the little kids.  He has made it so that our house is known as the house to go to on Halloween night.

This year when I was taking DS around I heard other kids talking about our house as they passed us and it made me giggle a little.

  • haha! I do like that this is a more "funny scare" than horror scare, but still I HATE when people do this to me. I so can't handle it! Thankfully I made this clear to my DH back when we were dating and he doesn't do it but maybe once in a blue moon.

But I'm the crazy person who can jump out of my skin with someone not even trying to scare me. Just walking into the room when I don't expect it or something and I freak out. Sounds like I wouldn't make it in your family. :)

I would scream if I saw that head as I was walking out of the bathroom.

You should hide it in your bed one night for your husband to find (Godfather) :)
Since DH is out of town when he gets to come home its usually around 1 am. Well bc I am awake at all hours peeing I wait up for him after my midnight pitstop, just to scare him. I don't do the bathroom scare at night bc he almost punched me once when I scared him that bad. Instead I lay in bed and when he comes in to kiss me, leans down and I pop up and scream AHHHHHH. He only comes home like every 4-6 weeks and I have gotten him at least 3 times. I'm trying to figure out how to be laying in bed with the mask on, but covered up for when he comes home this weekend. He has noooo idea I bought the mask :)

Oh you should give it to @bensmommy518 to add to her DH's Halloween collection!! I could totally see it with fake blood oozing down it.
  • We scare each other all the time. My dad has done it to me my whole life, hiding in places or throwing a frog at me unexpectedly...the latest was a few weeks ago when I was house sitting my parents house and mh pretended to break in scaring me. He almost had the cops called on him before I knew it was him. He's gonna put a girl in labor!

  • I hate, hate, HATE being scared!  I hate scary movies!  If someone was wearing that when I came out of the bathroom, I would beat the shit out of them.

I am a HUGE hypocrite and I can accept that about myself. I refuse to watch scary movies and hate being scared. That being said I enjoy scaring people so much that I have accepted that some of it will come back around. My husband knows not to pretend to break in or anything bc we have a security system and I sleep with the emergency alert by my bed. So being that's the case we usually stick to low key scaring :)
  • I would only startle my sister. It usually made her cry. That wasn't funny, but her reaction and her face before the crying was usually worth it! The best part about it was I could always scare her, even when she knew I was in front of her, like heading to our bedroom.

I don't do it with anyone else, and I'm not longer able to scare my sis because we're never in a position that I can.

Hahah me too. I'd probably cry, pee my pants and have a heart attack before being able to beat them up though....
