Welcome to the Bible Study Check-In. This check-in currently runs 2 times a week on Mondays and Thursdays. Mondays are our in-depth study where we spend time tackling a passage of Scripture or topic at greater length together.

@nyg2042 - how are you doing this week?

@megrae12 – how is your mom and how is YH doing with the loss of his coworker? Praying for you as you enter the holiday week that you can give yourself some grace to get out of dodge if you need to. Did you and YH talk about a code word?

@srcr2011 – looks like AF came, will you be TTC now? How are things going with your family? Did you want a prayer partner?

@Emma2370 – Praying for your friend and for you as you attended the memorial service this week. How are you doing with finding joy this week?

@mcnsher0627 – How is the new job going? Hopefully you are settling in well. Is this a new career or a new job in similar career? Praying for your in-laws as well.

@morethansparrows08 – How is your mom? How is your grandfather?

@skategirl128 – How did your aunt’s kidney transplant go? Any updates on your SO’s SIL’s mother?

Hi ladies, I will come back later today and check in with all of you, I am just having a tough day and ask for prayer. The memorial service was beautiful yesterday. The family was surrounded by support and love. The message from our pastor was very fitting, as I left he said " I hope my words also brought you comfort" At home my grief hit me, it's just very hard DH was not much support last night, just told me I needed to find away to deal with it!!! This morning he was supportive. I have just been crying for my babies last night and this morning, my heart is heavy.. I also feel like I should be supporting my friend rather than being caught in my own grief. Sorry ladies but if you could pray for me I would appreciate Ito much.

@MrsG80inTN Yes, I did get AF. I am so happy. We have to wait 3 cycles, but it's a start! My OB said to have 2 AF and then try, so we are aiming for February-ish. I started charting too, so lets see how it goes. I have an RE app on the 23rd. Family stuff is going ok. We are just all trying to get ready for Christmas with last minute stuff. Hopefully we will be done by Saturday. I will let you guys know when to sign me up for a pray partner. I really am praying for all you ladies regardless though!

Just got an update on my mom. She had a hospital stay a month or so ago followed by another month or so of rehab - PT, OT, etc. While in those three hospitals, she was put on a number of additional medications, and she now seems to be having hallucinations. She is being sent for some blood work and cultures, but won't get the results until after the new year. My grandmother and I are under the impression that all the new meds are causing other issues, so her PCP is going to reevaluate her meds list in January.

Nothing new with my grandpa - they are checking the aneurysm once every 2 months, so, if I remember right, he will go back in January for another check-up. As an old farmer, it's really hard for him to "take it easy". He's worked nearly every day of his life (stopping only for a heart attach and double bypass about 15 years ago), so it's hard for him to just sit and do nothing when he's used to working so much.

QOTW: Today I am thankful for: My husband - strong, supportive, funny, faithful and so much more. My brother, who is finally sober and straight after more than 15 years of prayer an struggle, and who will be home for Christmas this year. My family - they may be crazy, but I wouldn't be who I am today without them.

I am so sorry you are going through this! I will pray for you and YH. I hope you really do find some peace and comfort.

I hope they can figure out what's going on with your mom and adjust her meds!!! Your grandpa sounds like my grandma when it comes to working hard! They never quit!

Mom is doing ok. I have not talked to her today yet, so hopefully I will have a better update when I do. H is a trooper. He is doing pretty well considering. H and I have not talked about a code but I did speak to his cousin (who we are going to see) and told her how I would prolly be. She was very gracious and understanding. I feel only a little better.

@Emma2370 I will certainly keep you in my prayers. ((Hugs)) sweetie.

@Scr2011 Yay for AF and GL with all that Christmas stuff!

Edited: I forgot to put what I am thankful for. Here they are: 1. H. He is my rock, my constant and my best friend. I am beyond blessed to have him in my life. 2. My sister. She is amazing! She reminds me everyday what it is to be blessed. 3. The sunset. Everyday I look up at the sky and marvel at how God painted it just for me. It's such a humbling thought. ((Hugs)) to you lovely ladies.

@emma2370 – I can only imagine how difficult yesterday was for very many reasons. I’m praying for you and your heart. I’m sorry you’re in this spot, but you’re in my prayers. If your DH is like mine he doesn’t quite know how to process things sometimes and last night might have been his was of not knowing how to process. With regard to supporting your friend vs taking care of yourself. I’d recommend taking care of you and then taking care of your friend when you’re ready. You will both be grieving for a while and will likely find comfort in talking through it together at some point. Just know we’re here if/when you need us.

@srcr2011 – I’m glad that AF came and that you have a plan for when to try again. I hope the appt on the 23^rd goes well!!! I’m loving the quote in your siggy J

@morethansparrows08 – I’m sorry your mom’s medications are giving her hallucinations. It’s hard to wait for the tests – have they adjusted any of the medicine in the meantime? I understand grandparents not taking it easy. My grandmother is 90 and went on a 2 week international cruise last month with my mom and they are going on a 3 week cruis in February… she’s up and at em always and it’s great, but also I wish she could relax. Love your thankful list J

@megrae12 – I hope your mom is doing better. You and YH have really been through a bunch these last few months. I’m glad he is holding up. It’s great that you were able to talk to his cousin about the situation and I hope that gives you some peace.

For me – day is going ok… trying to get things finalized at work before our holiday shutdown (next Tuesday through New Year’s Day). I’ll have to work some, but hopefully not a lot. Prayers requested to continue for my dad – if you saw my update yesterday he is in the clear on the kidneys it seems, but still has to meet with the dermatologist re possible skin cancer issue… that is on Monday so we’ll know more then.

As for what I’m thankful for --- My DH – I feel blessed to be at the 10 yr mark when I though at times we wouldn’t make it past 6… The sunrise and sunset – they have been beautiful lately here and are a testament to God’s creativity and daily involvement in our lives. Creature Comforts – today I really enjoyed my heated seat and coffee on the way to work… it’s trivial, but I need to remind myself to be thankful for those things – many people don’t have much and I am blessed with an abundance.

I'm doing okay this week - incredibly busy at work this week, so this will probably be a post and run.

I ask for prayers for a good friend of mine. She is pregnant with twins and found out on Monday that one passed away. They are not sure what will happen with the surviving twin at this point and are playing a waiting game until they go for their next scan.

Three things I am thankful for: winter break, that I was able to work out a schedule with my counselor (I will be going back to see her today), that I am getting an office with a window at work!

Finally have a chance to get back to you all. Thanks for the prayers. I have been doing ok this afternoon. I ordered a memorial necklace for my two losses of etsy. It came today in the mail, as I am working late I asked DH to send me a photo. Well the necklace only contains one birth stone not the two I custom ordered. I was disappointed I had hopped to get for Christmas, but now I will wait. I know it's not a big deal. But the birth stone that's missing is the one for the cp, the only thing tangible I have from that pregnancy is a positive test. I just was hoping to the necklace after a tough day. @mrsg80intn thank you for the prayers ..... @nyg2042 I will be praying for your friend and her babies ( hugs) @megrae12 thank you for your prayers

@emma2370- sorry te necklace didn't arrive complete. You will have to take a picture of it once you have it all. You may not have it for Christmas but I'm confident it will come! And it's not silly- I haven't ordered a memorial but I'm going to soon.

Hi ladies! I participated on a few Sunday night chats a month or so ago but never joined the check as I was intimidated by them but I would like to join now. I am in my TWW so I hope its okay I join. I lost my pregnancy due to BO in July 2013 and have PCOS.
I am thankful for my mom she is simply amazing and listens to be about all my fertility struggles and is always there for me. My husband who is crazy and stubborn but I could not imagine a day without him here. I am also thankful forthis community who reminds me everyday I am not alone.

@MoreThanSparrows88 I will be keeping your mom and grandpa in my prayers
@megrae12 I am glad YH cousin was so understand I will be praying for you

@MrsHamon09 - So glad you've joined us. Praying for your 2WW that God will comfort you during this time and it would pass quickly with good results. As @megrae12 mentioned - we're not too intimidating --- unless it's me pre-coffee or without chocolate - that's just not a site anyone wants to see :-) Other than your 2WW is there anything else we can lift up in prayer for you?

Thanks for the welcome @Megrae12 and @MrsG80inTN ! I would ask for prayer to calm my anxiety about money and trust. I know we make plenty to live a comfortable lifestyle but even the thought of $10 has me going into a mild panic attack. I need to also work on my trust with God since the loss I find myself often not trusting that God is there at all for me even though I know deep in my heart he is.

I will certainly pray for peace. Money is a hard master and the anxiety that comes with it is insane! I struggle with it as well. I think b/c I have seen first hand what money can do to a relationship and I try hard not to fall into that pattern, which of course just cranks up the anxiety! ((Hugs)) hun. I will certainly pray God's arm wrap you up in His peace.
