Christmas gifts for LO

What is everyone getting their LO for their first Christmas?

I'm getting Henry an ornament (making one) and for his big gift I'm getting him a jumperoo! He loves moving and wiggling so I think he'll love this once he's ready to use I'll probably get him some other little things for his stocking too.

We just made a small stocking for him, mostly for DD so that she can see that he got something too.   We have some rattles, stuffed toys for his car seat and some themed socks and a book.  They also get matching Christmas PJ's that they will wear all day on Christmas.  (well until LO spits up too much on his and until DD opens her dress up clothes and insists on wearing something out of that box ;) )
  • a board book and a set of toys/rattles.   We already put his ornament on the tree.    While he will be really young this Christmas, I wouldn't want to not get him anything. Plus DD will want to help him open his gifts.

  • I'm going to "give" him some stuff I was planning to buy anyway. We got him some clothes, swaddle blankets, and an ornament. I am going to wrap them up so we can have some cute pictures to look back on of his first Christmas, even though there's a good chance he will sleep right through it all.

  • In my family, we always opened pjs, a Christmas book, and a stuffed animal on Christmas Eve. I wanted to start that tradition now with our LO... So I got her Christmas pjs, The NIght Before Christmas, and a "baby's first Christmas" teddy bear.
  • I'm going to see my parents and everyone there is really excited. So she'll get a lot from them. DH is going to get her a swing but I think that's more of a gift for me than her. Haha!

  • We got her some books, a blanket and 3 little toys. I wrapped them up so we could take some cute pictures in front of the tree. She will just be a month old so it won't matter to her. We did talk with my parents and inlaws about doing one tiny gift so there is something under the tree for her and then gifting money. We are opening a savings account for her and they all loved the idea of helping save for her future.
  • She's getting some books from Santa. And my parents are buying her an activity mat since my cat peed on the one we had for DD1.

  • Our LO shares our room with us so there is not a lot of room for his stuff. So I am not getting him anything. Plus my mom has gone nuts buying him stuff already. I told family he doesn't need anything, but if they insist on buying something, we would love books. They won't take up too much space and will actually be good for him.

Same thing. Only books and a little wooden truck DH had to buy him lol. And toys for his car seat. And long sleeve 0-3 month things. He doesn't have nearly enough.

We have to get him gifts, mainly for our 4 year old son. He's getting the fisher price seahorse, a book, these disney clicker toys, laugh n learn music player, a rattle, and pacis.

Just a keepsake ornament. Like some of the PPs, the grandparents will go completely overboard with gifts, and my ILs are putting $1,000 into his college account.

I wish our families could afford that! Lol.
  • We are doing the wear/read/want/need thing (I stole the idea from this board, actually)! Also 3 gifts from Santa (because baby Jesus got 3 gifts from the wiseman). He is our first LO, and while he won't know what is going on, it is so much fun to buy him things!
He is getting an exersaucer, books, an activity ball, stuffed blocks, burp cloths, pacis and some little toys for his stroller etc. His grandparents are all buying him books and Disney movies.
  • We aren't getting him anything. He has four grandparents and 7 aunts and uncles and is the only kid on either side, so he'll be well taken care of!

  • We got LO a couple books, 2 Baby Einstein toys, some 6 month clothes, and some Burpy Bibs.

  • Family members will not get LO tons of stuff, so I got her along the lines of want need wear read. Didn't feel right getting her nothing for her first Christmas!

    Baby's first Christmas ornament
    Aunt knit her a stocking
    Grandma 1- Sophie the giraffe
    Grandma 2- stacking ball toy
    Want- Rick Charette Christmas CD
    Wear- Buzz Lightyear PJs
    Read- Animal board book

Perfect amount of stuff I think :) Going to take lots of pictures!
  • DH insists that I get LO something for Christmas, even though he's only a month old today. So I'm having a tree planted in Israel in his honor. My parents did the same for me and it always meant a lot to me. I don't know if it will mean the same thing to him (or if DH will appreciate it) but I feel like it would be more special than another onesie...not that we couldn't use another onesie!
  • I've heard amazing things about the soothe and glow seahorse from the ladies over in Oct 13, so I got that for him.  I picked up a few things that I was going to be getting him anyways and wrapping them, just for fun and pictures really.  (Wrist rattles, Duplo- noth that he can use them any time soon but his dad is a Lego nerd, a book, new warm pjs- because Christmas = new pjs) We don't even have a tree or the time to get one it seems like, but I have a little table top tree so I think that will do!

Yes! LO loves his seahorse! Playing with him had become part of our bedtime routine.

  • Nothing.

They will get ornaments I'm sure, but that's it.

They aren't even a month old yet.

I think my MIL got them some more clothes, and whatever they got from toys for tots, but that's all they are getting.

Never saw the point in buying newborn presents for Christmas when they are this little.

  • LMAO.

We signed MY OLDEST up for toys for tots, and they said we had to sign the twins up as well...

Toys for tots has become a MAJOR MAJOR rip off....my daughter got TWO stuffed animals, and that's it.
  • Wow. So offensive.
  • Actually stuffed animals ARE CHEAP.

Sorry, but it came down to the fact me and my family actually work.

Beccause there are kids across the street who are getting brand new toys from toys for tots.
