Monkey wrench

This month marks 5 years of IF and family making in progress. And after 2 1/2 weeks of waiting for AF, I finally took an HPT....which came back positive immediately. I'm really struggling with transistioning back to a biological child. It took a long time for me to grieve and give up hope for a pregnancy and embrace the concept of becoming an adoptive mom. Our profile has been active since september...and I know it's been shown at least once. After our appt monday, I'll be able to call our SW so we can close our profile.

Just so much upheave today...it's becoming hard to process.
Trying to Add Baby #1 Since 12/2008
Dx: Unexplained Infertility
Spring 2010: 3 Clomid + TI
Jan 2011: 2 Femara IUI's
Summer 2011: 6 months of Chiropractic Therapy
March 2012: Confirmed Agency, Meeting set
July 2012: Homeopath consult (fail!)
July 2012: Start of Agency Meetings/Paperwork
October 2012: Agency Interview
February 2013: Tenative Agency Training
March 2013: Tenative Homestudy start date

    Do you have to close your profile before the 12 week mark? I'm wishing you so much happiness and positivity with this pregnancy you have no idea. I just don't want you to miss out or your profile being shown as a possibility.

    I wondered the same thing, just wasn't sure I wanted to say it...

    Congratulations though! It must be hard to get your head around, but that is so amazing!

    Our agency places our profile on hold for 3 months. I talked with our SW yesterday and she didn't have a whole lot to say. She's kinda hard to talk to anyways. She said most couples don't call again to check in...but encouraged us to let them know when baby arrives so they could celebrate with us.

    I'm sorry I put it out there like that- please know that I didn't mean it negatively at all. I just truly didn't want missed opportunities for you. I'm glad your agency is supportive!

    Oh my! No negativity was assumed at all. Thank you for your support. My heart continues to pray for you all on your journeys. The short time we spent being PAPs has taught us so much and has given me a deeper appreciation for all sides of the triad. Such an amazing way to be a family.
