No, I don't think it's too controversial! It's been brought up in UO's before. I always put my daughter in tankinis, so she's fully covered, but can be changed/use the potty easily.
No no no. I've UO'd this before. Bikinis have no place on babies. Tankini and bottoms maybe but full on bikinis can wait until she's a teenager....or older if her Daddy has anything to do with it.
Tankini, yes....bikini, no. I don't really see the point in little girls wearing them. They usually don't stay where they are supposed to anyways. Not for us....
I don't see the big deal with bikinis public of not. LO has 4 swim suits and none of them are bikinis because its too much sun exposure but otherwise she would have bikinis.
I voted no on this one. I think tankinies are fine bc they are easier but I don't like bikinis on babies. DH wouldn't go for it either. I also want to cover her from the sun as much as possible too.
Too many creeps out there and the last thing I want to do is sexualize my daughter. But there are very cute two peices, like tankini's and such. Wearing them in the backyard pool, doesn't really matter to me. I wouldn't b/c they lack in coverage for the sun.
And I got one of these babikini''s string bikini's from a family member when my DD was 1 y/o. I was like, no.

I don't plan on putting DD in a bikini but I don't think it's bad if ppl do. I got a free one that is 12 months- I may use it at that point. Right now I have a tankini for DD and I like it bc it's easy to change her and it covers her so she's not slippery in the pool. I had a one piece for her this summer and I had to take it off completely to change her. Didn't like that.
I don't wear them myself, so I wouldn't put my kid in one, but they just seem really impractical. My cousins wore them and the little tops would ride up into their armpits, and judging from bathtime, I would not want a slippery little baby in a pool. I will probably put my kids in rash guard type shirts until at least 2 or 3.
Re: Baby bikinis, yay or nay
Eta: actually prob tee shirt style in the pool too, I'm more concerned with the sun rather than it being appropriate or not.
