Scar Tissue due to LEEP & Dilation?

Hi Ladies,

So several years ago, I had the LEEP done. Today, at my appointment my doctor informed me I was 1cm dilated, but that he could feel scar tissue on my cervix. He then said that scar tissue can prevent my cervix from dilating as it should. In doing some research, it seems that the nurse may have to massage/stretch my cervix to help my labor progress if my body doesn't do it naturally? I'm 37 weeks today, and was wondering if any of you have any thoughts/experiences on this type of situation. I'm trying not to freak out about this, but am scared I'll be stuck at 1cm for awhile, and end up needing a c-section! Meh!

I have the same thing going on. I'm 100% effaced and about 1 cm. I have heard conflicting reports from different doctors 2 saying I should be fine 2 saying the scar is quiet thick and most likely is the reason I have not further dialated w all my contractions. I guess it's a waiting game. Hopefully ur doc is someone who knows how to "break up" the scar and deliver how u want. I will most likely be doing a rcs... ( I had 2 vag and 2 csection, my LEEP was done right before this pregnancy so I don't have a reference)
